Yeah..he got knocked the F out, saw it on ESPN yesterday and was like damn. Loved that hit and the one from Vernon

Yeah, but the helmet hits the helmet under the chin.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Tate's block, I'm just thinking like "the man."

Sean Lee wasn't in a defenseless position though

& really he put the crown of his helmet in Lee's chest, it just so happened to graze his chin.

Aye, left the ground, which takes away from the hit.

If you pause at :20 seconds in, you'll see his feet are still planted when he makes the block.

This is Mike Pereira's tweet

The hit on Lee is an illegal blindside block. Lee is considered defenseless, which means you can't lower your head & hit in head/neck area.

Personally, I think him being considered defenseless is absolutely crazy. He wasn't in the air trying to make a catch, he wasn't kicking a field goal, he wasn't fielding a punt, he just didn't have his head on a swivel. What's Tate supposed to do? Wait for him to take his head out of his ass?

It's a launch though. His feet may be on the ground when he makes contact (which granted they are), but the power he created was from launching his legs.

On the defense-less argument, I can see it. Tate came in from the side at full pace, which left Lee with no time to react, as he was focused on the ball carrier. I do agree though that its not the same as a defense-less receiver or QB.

Pretty hilariously the replacement refs called a personal foul on this play.. but it wasn't on Tate. It was on a Cowboy for that delicate late push out of bounds. Watched it with a Dallas fan who nearly had a stroke from the call.

We've done it to ourselves.....Well...former players have. This is what all those lawsuits do.
In order to survive the NFL has to stop stuff like this with fines, penalties, suspensions, and the like.

Thank those good hearted souls in the concussion lawsuits for this whole line of logic used
by the NFL. The game, as we knew it, is going away.

-Sean Lee was actively in the play.
-Tate came up and smacked him.
-Goon approves of this play.
-Defend yourself at all times. That means being situationally aware, or pay the price.

Now....Well...I don't even know what to say anymore about what's illegal, and what's not, and what
the situations are that make a thing illegal. It's ****ing shameful is what it is.
