Golf: Daly $50-$60M in gambling losses during his career

This is what happens when you give a hayseed money.
 
You'd think he'd suspect himself as a pretty crappy gambler after the first 40 mill.
 
Daly should try to win it back playing Michael Jordan at golf...they both love to piss away money.
 
Wait a minute. The article says Daly has career earnings of $8.5M. He claims to have gambled away $50-60M. Even assuming massive sponsorship money, how on earth could he have POSSIBLY lost that much money? Not to diminish the significance of his gambling problem, but somehow I doubt that $50-60M figure.

NO. it is understandable.

If you gamble $100....and you win $1,500..and then lose the $1,500...you lost $1,500..although you started with $100.

In that sense it make sense. But Im sure he's made more then 8.5mil. with his sponserships.

Ah, I see. I was thinking NET losses, but if we're calculating GROSS losses, then yeah, I can see where they came up with that.
 
c'mon... they were saying the guy won 750K at a tournament, immediately drove to vegas and blew $1.6M in 5 hours.... it was also said he was putting $5K in the slots at a time... that's a loser gambler if there ever was one...

He did this over a 12 year period.....so basically about $4-$5 million a year in sponsorhip deals would not be out of the question. Tiger Woods makes between $80-$100 million a year (mostly from endorsements/sponsorships) so I think Daly may be accurate. He also has to pay numerous ex wives for alimony. It would suck living your life the way he has...big waste.
 
Do you think he would take it all back? Hes addicted and I bet he loves gambling even though its a problem! I don't feel sorry for him I feel sorry for the people who are addicted to whatever habits and they can't afford to live the rest of there life because it all goes to there addiction!
