i need help from any golf experts

Can anyone tell me what the color of tees mean...like i know Pro's hit from white but what about Gold, Blue, Red and white tees?

also

What is the average par for 18 holes? The area of the different color tees are found is the? a driver is also considered?

last one if im playing a par 4 and i make it to the green in regulation how many shots dose it take!

im not sure about all of the tee colors, i just hit from the middle which is mens i think.....

courses have differnt par rounds......most are 72 i think

and on a par 4, gettin on in 2 is green in regulation so u put for birdie

White is actually for amatures. Blue is usually for members, or golfers with a lower handicap, Black would usually be the professional tees. Red is for women, and Gold is for seniors

What is the average par for 18 holes? 72 typically
The area of the different color tees are found is the? tee box
a driver is also considered? 1 wood

last one if im playing a par 4 and i make it to the green in regulation how many shots dose it take! 2 to get there in regulation, two putts to get par
read the bold

It can be different for a lot of courses.

Heres the setup where I ususually play.

Just take it like this...the CLOSEST tees towards the hole are designated for women.

Middle for your average male golfer.

Farthest back, pros.

Color can be different.

On most courses it's 72.

I'm not sure a follow you,but if the hole is a par 4 (shots) then anything under 4 shots to get on the green is good(if not great).Obviously if you hit the green in 2(shots) that leaves you 2 putts to make par.If it takes you 5 shots it's a bogey 6 double bogey and after that I usaully just pick up my ball and go to the next hole:rolleyes:.If you sink your ball in 3 shots it's a birdie in 2 it's an eagle all based on a par 4.

(typed this part first:D)

I'm far from being a golf expert(truth be told I suck) but I'll try to help Jt.You're right the different colors do represent tee off points.Pro's,mens, womens and children(I believe). You will also see red, blue and white markers or flags throughout the course. They represent distance(yardage) you are from the flag(hole). This will help you in choosing the right club(not me apparently) for the upcoming shot.I'm really not sure witch color represents which distance(I always golf with my brother-in-law he a golf nut) but most the intervals are like 200,150,100 yards away from the hole.Hopefully someone with better knowledge of the game will chime in with more accurate info.I do love playing the game( I just don't get out enough to get good) but it can test your patience.Good luck with your game man.

Actually, the term "In Regulation" has a specific meaning. Basically, it means you get on the green and still have two putts to make par.

Blue=200 yards, White=150 yards, Red=100 yards

thanks fins,I was in the ballpark though.

Ok, finaly a topic I know about :) the further the tees from the green, the lower the handicap should play them as someone mentioned tee colour changes from course to course. Most private courses and higher end courses regulate from which tee you can play depending on your handicap. Don't get macho and try to play the tips if you are a beginner, play the beginner or ladies tees, you will have more fun.

To understand how many shots it should take you to get to a green subtract 2 from the par of the hole. i.e. a par 4 should take you 2 strokes to reach the green and a par 3 should take you 1 shot to get to the green.

The average golfing score is 94 on a par 72 course. Most golf courses are par 72, but can range from 69 to 73 on championship courses or 54-64 on executive courses. If you are a beginner and it sounds like you are then if you shoot 55-70 in nine holes you will not be alone. If you are playing soon just remember to play when ready, don't take countless practice swings, keep moving, make sure you tip the bev cart girl lots if she is hot and have fun.

No prob. Sounds like you may be studying for a test or some homework?
i got a take home test in GYM! :shakeno:  its funny but this is my first test i took all year  well other than my business law test...let me rephrase it...its the hardest test i took all year

wow i got a T and F part that i need help
1) The sand trap and water are both considered Hazards ( i want to say False cause they put them there on purpose...if it was hazards they would not)
2) There are two gaps you need to close when you swing the club
3) The fringe surrounds the perimeter of the green
4) As the number of the iron gets higher the distance the ball travels is usually further
5) when a player addresses the ball it should be lned up with the heel of the front foot
6) After all gofers have teed off, the one who hit the shortest shot will be the golfer to hit the next shot...

The bad part is we never learned any of this at gym...

I hate the holes with the windmills and the clowns with the open mouth.
