Chiefs | Gonzalez may be ready to move on

Sam Mellinger, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/142">Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez's tenure with the team may be coming to an end. Gonzalez will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. "It's been 10 years now, for me, leaving here disappointed," Gonzalez said. "I'll never get used to it, and I never want to. But after 10 years, you start to say to yourself, 'This is something that's got to change.' That's what they pay us for, to win games, to go to the Super Bowl. If we can't get it done, something's got to change. I'm looking forward to change this offseason."

I think he has better hands than McMichael? Your thoughts.

I don't think he's referring to leaving. I think he's pretty much begging the coaches and front office to make some changes to the team that will push them over the hump. That's just my read on it.

Duh he does, he's one of the best if not the best TE in history.

I don't want to pay that high for someone who will only be here for a short time anyway. Especially for a TE, which can come a dime a dozen.

Agreed, and he may have better hands the Randy but he's also older.

Absolutely he has better hands than McMichael. He is a MUCH better and consistent player than RM. He's top 3 in the league at his position and may be the best in the league still when you consider his all around play.

We aren't going to sign him though. WAY too much money.

He is not unlite JT and ZT in that the carreer is there with everything you could want but need a Super Bowl run to really cap it all off before age takes its toll.

TG is a great TE and a bit past his prime but would still be a great addition to any team.

I don't think he'd be looking to come here anyway, even if he leaves KC. He wants to win now, and we're not going to be ready to compete for a Super Bowl for a while.

Agreed

Its a moot point because the Chiefs are supposed to slap the franchise tag on him. He isn't going anywhere.

Moot point: The Tight End position does NOT even excist in Mularkeys offence.....except to block!!!!
