we shut down gonzo, we win. it's that simple. our blitz happy D will get penetration and disrupt lj and his "wait for everyone to get blocked then run 5 yards untouched" approach. the kc wrs should not be the reason we lose. if they are, we deserve to lose. the absolute key is taking tony g out of this game. i dont care if it takes 3 defenders, do it. gonzo is huard's go to guy. take him away and the kc passing game is a non factor. double gonzo and blitz off the edges. easier said than done but i beleive our d is upto the task.

I'd say that piling Larry Johnson into our ageing line 35 times might be far more effective.

then i'd say you don't know KCs offense and havent seen all their games this year, cuz that's not their style. they will not try to run at big daddy and traylor all game. they will sweep and toss and look for cutback lanes. the kind of runs that make 700lbs of immobile DT useless.

I agree Boomer....Johnson could open up the passing game. I wonder if the Dolphins will play the two big guy's together some more...to try to stop the run.

i love your blind comments. try some film study before just throwing **** out there.

You could be right...but 700 lbs of beef don't leave much room for lanes...

thats why unlike boomer said they will not pile into the line 35 times....they will get wide on us and take their chances that traylor and big daddy will not have backside pursuit outside the hash on cutbacks. i'd make that bet too..

I would say...that's what the Dolphins do best against the running game...clog the middle and use the linebackers to take away the outside lanes....so far I believe they have done well against other teams rushers...not great....but well enough.

K.C. will not be a easy game....it should be interesting to see if they come out to play....or to be played. Lets hope they learned a lesson against the Bears.

i say give my boy Y. Bell coverage on Gonzo all day.
Give the kid a huge test.
just imagine if he pasts this test how many ppl will then love him:lol:

you guys can laugh at this...cuz, well, it's laughable, but i would actually like to see jason allen starring as tony gonzalez's back pocket. i love what bell is doing now, but the reason it took him so long to crack the starting lineup is he still struggles at times to play the ball and is late in locating it in the air, and at times will get himself out of position to play the ball in the deep part of the field. sounds a lot like tillman lol. the diffrence i guess is that at least bell usually has tight coverage and that will force a better throw by the qb.

I think Yeremiah can shut down Tony G and if he does the Fins will get the Win and the key will be to get ahead early.

I still remember how he abused our secondary a few years ago.

Hopefully Saban will have a better plan in place, and they will excecute much better.

Well. I remember back in 1999, when the Bills defeated us with Huard on Board, the way they did it was that the focused their coverage on the middle of the field kinda forcing him to go to the wide which he was not so good at back then. I guess it will all be decided on the trenches. I mean if Larry gets his blocks Huard and gonzo will kill us with playaction passing. If we stop Huard and take the middle of the field we should have a shot.

Thanks for the advice Herman Edwards. Suffice to say that you clearly haven't been watching Larry Johnson that much if you think all his yards come on toss's and sweeps.

What I meant, whilst you were searching for ambiguity which no-one else found, was that they will use Johnson as the main weapon. Quite obvioulsy they won't run straight ahead all the time. Miami are notorious for giving up run yardage as games go on, especially on the perimeter, but also between G and T. Herman Edwards knows this only too well from using Curtis Martin this way and watching Buffalo use Travis Henry and Willis McGahee that way.

I'm sure they will take thier shots with Gonzo since he has had major success against us. In fact some big plays have came from Tightends against us. With Gonzo's size and our mediocre secondary I'm sure they will try to make some big plays with Gonzo. We should see plenty of Johnson running and receiving along with Gonzo trying to abuse our safeties. Hopefully our pass rush will be effective mixing in some blitzes that work. Our offense holds the key for the defense on this one. If we are unable to keep our offense on the field Larry Johnson will be softening up a tired defense.
