I apologize if this article was already I didn't see it on a recent thread. I think Bernandino makes some great points, although Im not as distraught over losing Marshall like some on here, I think we will be fine just look at the numbers below.

"Thing 2: As I noted on Twitter last night, Marshall’s history of losing was among the reasons I had no problem with this trade from the outset, even before learning of the nightclub allegations.

As I wrote back in December, Marshall is still looking for his first playoff trip after six NFL seasons. Incredibly, he’s never had a winning season in the pros as a starting player.

For his career, his teams are now 45-51 in the NFL, 18-28 in college (Central Florida) and 8-32 in high school (Lake Howell outside Orlando).

That’s a career winning percentage of .390 over his past 14 years of football.

It’s a team game, yes, but that’s still a disturbing trend when you consider how many times in that span Marshall has been the most talented player on the field — for either team."

Denver ripped off MIA - 2nds seemed about right at the time - now we got something good not great before BM does something drastic

I think TWO 3rd round picks is a GREAT deal for a ticking time bomb of a player like BM. He has had way too many chances before this last event. It just seems the odds are stacked against him to ever stay out of trouble for any real length of time. It seems like every off-season he's surrounded by some kind odd event. PacMan is the only player I can compare BM to.

We made a dumb mistake trading for him in the first place, the reason we could not get a better deal is the only guy dumb enough to trade two second rounders for him is employed by us. Hate the value we got for him and dont think he will be replaced on the field this year but alot of me is glad this woman beater is gone. Funny you can talk about Marshall now and no one will call you a hater. even Locke wont try to defend him now.

really? So now a WR's W-L record on a 53-man roster going back to puberty determines how talented or effective he is in the NFL?? I have enough trouble when people use that card to judge QBs (no SB for marino and all that jazz), but a WR? Retarded. There's certainly a reasonable argument to be made whether it was a good deal, but his freakin' 8 wins in high school aren't it. Terrible journalism. I have no idea who his Qbs were in grade 12 or college, but at the pro level when he had a good QB, he dominated. Not sure that's enough to keep him considering he's one one wife stabbing (either giving or receiving) away from getting booted from the NFL, but this point is stupid.

Wehn people want to explain away performance they will say he hasnt won. Last time I checked there are 22 starters on each team and each roster has like 53 players. I agree this point has no point, this isnt baseball

I think the trade was for a second and third before the latest incident came to light. Then there was no way to bring Marshal back so the deal got done for the two three’s to make it happen.

here's my favorite line:
"It’s a team game, yes, but that’s still a disturbing trend when you consider how many times in that span Marshall has been the most talented player on the field — for either team."
Exactly!! So, if you agree he's usually the most talented player among the 106 guys playing the game and his team's still lose, then how bad are the teams he's been on? This wins the undermining your own point award of 2012.

some good points. you need to be able to rely on your number one to make plays at crucial times and you just can't count on Brandon Marshall to come through. how many times did we see him get 2 or 3 catches for 40 or 50 yards in a drive only to drop the TD pass? he a great talent but always seems to come up empty or disappear when it really matters. typically, his 21 reception game with the Broncos came in a loss and his best game during his time with the Dolphins was the one that doesn't count. I believe Brandon himself is a big reason why teams don't win with him

No. ireland has proven that he does nothing fast but fail and spend $$$ along our lines. Even if the Bears were unaware of the latest club incidentwe still got fleeced for 2 3rds. If the pick isnt conditional next year, Ireland has failed miserably.

He caught 6 touchdowns and dropped 6 touchdowns. He really helped us almost have a 500 record last two years. I will never forget his first year when he ran out of gas during the Jets game and was jogging into the endzone. What a great number 1 he was.
