Good article on Alabi

Excellent read. Just the things you need to hear from a young player who really wants to start. His jump in weight is also a good indcator of his motivation, too.

Nice read, hopefully he continues to improve. Even if we draft an o-lineman, you can never have enough depth on the o-line.

I think alabi tends to be forgotten a bit when it comes to the LT discussion. There is no question that if you can get your hands on a D'Brickishaw Ferguson, Joe Thomas, Orlando Pace, Walter Jones type guy in the early first that you can really lock down the LT spot, but alot of teams are also having sucess with drafting guys like Alabi in lower rounds who maybe were a little raw, undersized, small school etc and developing them into some really solid starters. And Randy, Cam and HH all seem to have some history and sucess with going that route, so I dont think LT is as desperate a need as some say, where we might reach for one in the first or whatever.

I would love it if Alibi could be the man for the next 5 to 7 years for at the LT position. That would free up our draft strategy even more. Hopefully Cam, Randy, and HH have seen enough of him to know one way or the other.

Yeah, he's gotten big; 330 lbs! He just may be our LT.

Recall, that he was personally scouted by HH. That was his pick.

Wow...330 pounds, his status and just how good he does in these practices will really shape the first day of our draft.

If he is truly ready, it opens up so many more possibilities for those early picks.

jesus. if alibi weighs in at 330, that would deffinately help with his run blocking.if he can maintain his pass blocking skills this could be awesome. if he can be our new richmond that would complete this offseason in my eyes. now all wed need would be a qb. cmon aa kick @ss.

Alabi is a smart guy. He used to be a student at Annapolis, so that should say plenty about his smarts. He also has been quoted as saying that if he were not playing in the NFL, he would probably be working for the CIA (or maybe FBI). I think he trains quite a bit with martial arts, do not know what style though, but I think he said that helps his football game.

I really like Alabi. Hope he does well enough to start!

The problem is that there is no way to know before the draft because there is no contact, so it would not be a wise decision to once again ignore oline, when we have no real clue on Alabi.

You always hope that some "project" players work out, but getting a fifth rounder to come in and be a solid LT would be a HUGE gift from the football gods for Miami.

It frees up the draft in so many directions. Move up to #6 if Quinn falls? Move DOWN, if Quinn goes early, to grab another second or third rounder? Get BPA at #9?

Would Greg Olsen be on the list at #9? How much does Cam need a quality TE for his offense? I know we got David Martin, but the guy has been hurt every year, for six years running. Hard to rely on Martin to last the whole season. Actually, a trade down, then getting Olsen would be better value.

Okay, I'm rambling now... :D
