Good Article on Compensation Picks

Its something that had Lamar Miller played the last two games he more than likely would have garnered a 4th rounder. He might still though.
 
An extra 3rd,5th and a loss of our own 4th is most likely.
We also don't have our own 3rd I believe due to the Caraoo trade
 
It shouldn't be this subjective. One more reason why the fans have lost any trust in the league.

Wasn't the caroo trade for a third round compensatory if we got one, otherwise they get our actual 3rd round pick.

nope it was 2016 third round pick (Caroo) for Dolphins 2017 3rd round pick and the 4th round pick was the conditional pick. The Vikings also received Miami's 2016 6th round pick.
 
I read the link to the Denver compensatory pick projection and was amazed by the totally different interpretations of the Russell Okung contract. It appears that Denver may have worded Okung's 5 year deal with the objective of minimizing his initial year so he would only be treated as if he were the equivalent of a 7th round compensatory pick (loss). I had no idea of the trickery that teams can go to in a bid to exploit the compensatory pick process. The subjectivity of the process is interesting to note.

When one team keeps performing at an elite level people always cry cheat. Remember people use to always say the league cheated for the DOlphins because SHula was head of the competition commitee.
 
Well we darn sure start figuring it or cheating whatever it takes to keep up with the jones. The draft is where you cheaply fill in the hole in your team and we gotta lot of holes to fill.
 
Jimmie Johnson draft trading is what we need to do again. Trade down around pick up more picks theres good players in every round look at Lippett and Ajayi 2 former 5th rounders
 
If the comp pick is a 5th rounder we will then lose our normal 4th round pick to the Vikings. So either way, we are giving the Vikes out 3rd and some version of a 4th this year.

The difference is that in Shula's case is was simply jealousy, whereas in the the Pats case there s verifiable proof that they cheated on at least 2 occasions.
