Having an interior pass rush presence probably helps Wake more anyway, and I think articles like these are trying to say that between Randy Starks, Jared Odrick and Tony McDaniel, we shouldn't have a shortage of those. Personally I would think about sliding Olivier Vernon to the interior and having him rush over a guard like Pernell McPhee or Wallace Gilberry, but then we'd have nobody left to put on the outside opposite Cam Wake. Unless you're cool with Koa Misi.

Good points here. You can really never have too many good players rotating on a DL IMO. I sure hope Vernon is effective as a situational pass rusher because if not then the other 5 guys we have just aren't going to be enough.

One of the few bright spots of having Saban here is that we ran a 10 man deep rotation on the DL. We had 10 players working in at the four positions. I remember a few games where we simply wore out the OL trying to protect against us.

I thought I was making it easier. I think Wake and Dansby will blow it up in this defense. To be honest I'm more worried about the O.

You were making it easier, I like to just hop into the thread and be able to read most of it.

But yeah, hopefully the 4-3 will bring more pressure like we're all hoping. I think Odrick will have a good year, but on passing downs I feel like its more likely we'd see Vernon in there. Or maybe both with Odrick inside? This season will be interesting for sure

2 words.. Paul Soliai.. teamed with the cat quick Randy Starks, big Paul is gonna have one of those seasons.. I can see centers so worried about Randys quickness that they tend to cheat his way too fast only to leave the "Paul side" guard to get bowled over and thru.. run play STUFFED! pass play HURRIED! penetration killed the cat!
