Good article on Hadnot

Sounds very familiar, doesn't it, I've been talking about him every since he's been here. I must say I won't miss him if they cut him.

Whittley has found out that it takes more then a big bubble to make it in the NFL.

That article was written by someone who knows about as much as we all know. In other words, a MB poster. It's nice to hear but, it means about as much as if I wrote it.

not trying to be negative I just thought people should know that it's not a real journalist with inside info or anything...

Good point Mr. InFins. :D

But, as we all know, we take camp reports quite seriously, which are written by those on this board.

I'll take it for what its worth - a valid opinion with some facts to show a point.

Rex Hadnot - nice find by Wanny/Spielman!

That was all Spielman, which is why he didn't get into the games the 1st half of the season..after Wanny left, Bates and company inserted him quickly after Jeno got hurt and kept him in when Jeno came back to take the place of a worthless RG Wanny pressed into the starting lineup.

Not that it REALLY makes that much difference, but can anyone name more than 2 or 3 NFL starting centers that weigh more than 310?? Most of the time centers are the smallest of the olineman, right?? Rex tops in at 325, or that is what the article says. This could come in handy in the fourth quarter when we have the lead and need to convert a 3 & 1 or 2. Seth always got pushed backward into the backfield and messed up the timing of the play. Rex can be leaning on these players and by the 4th qt may have them a little more wore out.
Houck always has loved bigger players, and with the exception of Jeno, (and he has been a disappiontment since he got here) it looks like we will have some big ol road graders for our backs to run behind. With a big OL and two great RBs we may be h#ll on wheels late in games this year.
I like it!!!! :)

Once he was inserted in 2004, our OL was much more steady. I'm happy he's replacing McKinney, and he should do very well considering what I've seen at camp over the last two days....

He was bound to take over, I think we're lucky it happened when it did. Houck / Saban must have seen enough of Seth, and quite frankly most of us felt the same. Hadnot is a more physical, and smarter player IMO....

Good article by the way...

PHINZ RULE!!!

The idiot had nothing to do with it...it was Spielmans pick. If Wanny had any say in it Whitley would still be starting and and Hadnot and Carey would still be anchored to the bench "they've got some things to clean up...Taylor is working really hard....blahblahblah"...

Wanny was such a moron.

i really glad, i hope he stays at center and i really think he will do a great job. its hard to draft or find good centers, much easier to find guards. i think the oline is taking shape for the future.starting top 5 with no injuries r=== carey,james,hadnot,middleton,mcdougle=325lbs of usda grade a BEEF!!!!!!

I guess that's the main reason we signed Middleton in the first place, plainly because Houck just said I can't make anything out of McKinney. Since Smith seems to be out of the picture I guess Ephraim is our 2nd string C.

I'd expect the line to be something like

LT- Carey, McIntosh, Alabi
LG- James, Cook
C- Hadnot, Ephraim
RG- Middleton,
RT- McDougle, St. Clair

Ya I think we'll carry five tackles, since McIntosh and especially St. Clair are fit to play guard.
