Ive seen some pivot routes vs leverage save the stick nods for the regular season with the tight ends in the red zone

This is the new passing game, the one coach Adam Gase developed after years as offensive coordinator for Denver and Chicago, and it's different than previous passing games quarterback Ryan Tannehill has run for the Dolphins.

"It's different concepts, some things I've never run before," Tannehill said.

. . . receivers are using more routes and more route combinations

Breath of fresh air for Dolphin fans.

Can we finally but to rest the "genius" of Bill "the Star" Lazor. What a load of amateur crap he tried to dump off on a professional field. Many have been pointing the severe limitations of Lazors offense system for a while now.

This part made me laugh:

When you talk to the Dolphins defensive backs they'll tell you this year's routes are more varied, that the receivers keep the defensive backs guessing. In previous seasons, the defensive backs said they knew the routes the receivers were running. Now, they're uncertain.

Yeah. You don't say.
How many db's do we have from last year? And how many of those have a clue what they are talking about?

Tony Lippett, Reshad Jones, Michael Thomas, Bobby McCain, Walt Aikens, and uhh, I think that's it?

The most important part of this entire season is seeing if Gase shows the promise of being the guy he is advertise to be. I am a huge fan so far and if he pans out, we are set for sooooooooooo long. NFL is a coach & QB league. No way around it.

every ****ing thing about Joe Philbin was VANILLA and boring (although I do like vanilla ice cream but that's not the point). The guy was vanilla and boring at pressers, at game management, at conversations w players, at game planning, at giving speeches (except when he delegated those to Dan Campbell - this still blows my mind). The only thing he did w any passion was pick up after himself and the team. I still feel my BP rise when I think of him. I may have a problem.

a lot of what has been said around here by multiple, informed posters...good stuff.

again, i think adam gase has the goods.

Was it under Sherman or Lazor that the DBs were calling the WRs routes pre-snap? Either way, Sherman/Lazor . . . anyone who says the team was bad (it was) and omits grossly inept coaches, doesn't know football.

If remember rightly they knew the snap count with Sherman's and routes with Lazor.

If by "snap count", you mean "Go! Go!" Then yeah, pretty much everyone knew Sheman's snap count. lol

I love the Trips to 1 side and throw to the other side 1 on 1 to Cameron in the redzone. But the fact that we are showing that already. I'm not sure they don't change that up when it counts. Maybe throw a screen to the trips side
