For all of you Brady Quinn people (which includes me) it looks like we are out of luck. On most mock drafts it has Adrian Peterson going to the Browns. Well the Browns dont need him cause they got Jamal Lewis. So now the QB is the most important position.

I would love to have Quinn but I never felt we would get him at nine. :dolphins:

that sucks but i guess it makes it alittle easier of a pick then. I would have to figuer we take Levi Brown at that spot.We need a LT bad and by the looks of FA we arent going to pick one up. Unless we trade down 4-6 spots and hope hes there we have to pull the trigger on him. Some might say its a slight reach but sometimes you have to do it to fill a spot that important on the line. Im not sold on The back up we have now to start. We have to address the oline this draft and set it up for the next 5 or 6 years. With hadnot and carey hopefully not going anywhere we need to get a LT and a LG now.

The Browns, like the Lions, could easily justify taking anyone of the top players in this draft.

I don't think this move puts the kibosh on Peterson going there at all. Even the Browns know that Lewis doesn't have much left in the tank.

There are always surprise picks in the draft. Don't give up all hope.

Exactly, they only signed Lewis to a 1 year deal. I bet they still draft Peterson and got Lewis to mentor him for one year.

Shouldn't make proclamations till you have all the details. Jamal only signed for one year. Doesn't preclude Peterson at all. If anything it helps because those 2 could create a power running attack to take pressure off of Frye. The coach and GM are on their last rope so they need 'win' now players. They draft Quinn and neither will be there to see him grow.

:rolleyes2
its a one year deal, relax. Jamal Lewis is on the decline anyways.

Yeah this IMO would only make it easier to take Peterson.

How badly did Gruden mess up Cadillac his rookie season by getting him all those carries?

Bring in Lewis, who only signed a 1 year deal. e takes the majority of the snaps while you let Peterson learn the ropes and ease into the role without getting 4o carries a week.

Besides, if they don't take Peterson they would probably take a D-lineman. I see no scenario where the Browns would take Quinn personally. They're less like then the Lions who do kinda worry me

they could still take peterson (PFT thinks so), but I'd be just as happy with Levi Brown cus we need a LT BADLY!!!!!

I agree that they still take Peterson. Peterson is the type of player that unless you have a franchise back (Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown), you still take him. You certainly don't pass up on him because you have Jamal Lewis.

The Raiders, Lions, Browns, Vikes and Texans all could easily take Quinn. All could easily take someone else. Many drafts have them doing just that. I personally would be thrilled to get Quinn at 9, but it just seems that teams are gearing up to take him, see the Steinback/Lewis signings by the Browns and lack of a QB pickup by the Texans as the biggest flags thus far.
I still have hope he can fall, but its just not the most realistic anymore it seems (if it ever really was). Hes just to good! Our only hope is that he doesnt blow away scouts in his proday enough to make them crazy and that he gets overanalyzed aka Matt Leinart. Oh that would be sweet.

Barring that, the pick almost has to be Levi, something im not a big fan of, but really we do need a LT and hes the second best option and unless someone else blows him out of the water (some WR or maybe a defender) we go with him.

Actually - I was kind of hoping we could package our 1 and one of the 2s to move up and get Thomas. Then draft Khalil with the other 2nd. Move Hadnot back to G and we have a very stout and young OL.
