Let me just say that this was a good old fashioned Bills/Fins game...down to the wire. I'm not here to gloat on a win because it was an unspectacular win (but I'll take it). At this point both teams seem pretty even, and if the Bills stick with Holcomb, they should finish around 8-8/9-7. I predicted the Fins would be right around there as well. You're D played pretty stout after our early lead and the O played fairly well....a few mistakes by Ferotte. When Saban gets them playing a litle more polished, the Fins will be contenders once again. You can all but chalk up a win for the Fins when we visit Miami, I'm still not sold on the Bills line or play calling just yet. Later............

Congrats on a big win for your team, I was shaking my head all week long about all the Dolphins fans saying how easy of a game this was. Its always a good game with these 2.

The Bills are not going to finish at 8-8. I just don't think it will happen, they should have crushed us today.

I know you guys are upset about the loss but give it a rest with the "Bills suck" talk. Let them have their win. Whether or not they earned it is irrelevent. They got the win, and we got the loss. Time to prepare for next weeks game and hope we can eliminate some of the mistakes that hurt the team today.

From now on every zebra crew will be looking to throw the flag on the fins all day long. It's Sabans fault. Can you imagine a ref crew answering questions from an opposing team on Monday about why a team the averages 12 or more penalties every game was only flagged 6 times? This will be a big hill to climb every week from now on until the undisciplined reputation the Phins have is put to bed and it will take several games of no penality play to stop it. Too bad.

This is just the type of response from a Bills fan I expected. Glad to win, but arent blind to the fact that neither team is playing well right now. Dare I say a classy post. :)

Take away the penalties and it would have been a pretty easy win (not a blowout, mind you).
Buffalo didn't run the ball well and there no real big plays. Buffalo did absolutely nothing in the second half.
The O-line played pretty well except for the stupid pre snap penalties.
This was a loss chalked up to coaching (penalties are the direct result of undisciplined play).

hey bills dam near rubbed our noses in the dirt first half....and played not to lose the 2nd...and lose they didnt.

Actually, I just reviewed our remaining games.....I gotta tell ya it doesn't look good for the Bills......I'm not blind to the fact that they still have serious issues with the line (hell, couldn't score from the 1yd line today!) and they will never be contenders without line help. The loss of Pat Williams is really starting to show as well. For some reason teams are able to reel off long runs against us 4-5 times a game, you just didn't see that the last few years. Evidently I'm big on Roscoe Parrish joing the team, he's a playmaker and will help spread the field, but until he gets in there and get's PT, he won't be a major factor until next year.

As for the penalties and turnovers, yeah they had a bunch but there were a lot of 5 yarders out there, I don't think there were any of the "gamebreaker" variety. If you played a better team, those would hurt but against the Bills right now, they were for the most part harmless. The turnovers did hurt the drive where you could have come away with at least a FG (which wound up being huge), but how many points did the Bills get off T.O's? I'm not sure, just asking (10 maybe?). I know the Fins got a TD off McGahees fumble, so that's not as bad as it could have been. It will definitely be an interesting game the next time these two play.

I've seen this comment made a few times and personally it doesn't make sense to me. Reason being, how can you discard penalties? That's an essential part of the game whether they are for you or against you. To me that's like saying if Gus didn't the ball over 2-3 times we would have man-handled them.

To rationalize a game by discountng penalties, turnovers, etc doesn't make sense.
