Good Job By Vernon Carey

this guy has improved and no 1 talks about how improved he is...kudos to him

Yup, I like him, great job this year. Also, Ck predicted he would have a good year this year before the season started. He's one of the guys thats NOT part of the problem with the offensive line.

Im proud of him. Next years gonna be a good year for our oline. Joe Toldeo will come back and win the starting job at LG IMO, and Fonoti could become a very solid RG. I said could for a reason. As for LT, I believe in Alabi but we could get another big guy in the draft as well.

We got snookered by minny on that but that's the FO's fault (spielman right?). People calling him a bust yet others preached patience. Every single time man, every single time.

I also was very impressed with him. He was one of the only offensive bright spots on this team..To think, a spielman pick is actually panning out..

Keep up the good work

Spielman was actually a decent talent evaluator (boldin over moore?). It was his boneheaded moves that killed him (carey, gordon, feeley?)

LT is still a very big uncertainty, If we could somehow find a good C through either draft of FA then Rex could move back to RG which he was very effective at, last season.

Id like it to pan out this way.

LT- ? Draft/FA
LG- Toledo
C- ? Draft/FA
RG- Rex
RT- Vernon

Shake up along the OLine like you all are talking about will only produce results similar to the beginning of the year. I like what we have, can it be improved sure, but let's do it right. I think Hadnot, Shelton, and Carey are fine up the middle and on the right. I wouldn't be opposed to Damion McIntosh at LT next year either. Did he really do that poorly? If a guy like Joe Thomas or another standout LT somehow falls to us at #9 then we will wait to make the decision on who starts next year. If there is a position to upgrade through the FA I'd look at LG. That is if he isn't on our team, between Joe Toledo, Bennie Anderson, Seth McKinney, Jeno James, or Toniu Fonoti...Again, upgrading the OLine is critical, but that doesn't mean they have to be immediate impact players.

I'd add Welker to that list.

And I'd take him back off the list. Chambers is better out of the slot than Welker. If we can get trade Welker for, say, a 3rd round pick... let's do it.

As far as our offensive line goes, Carey is definitely a shining spot. Ronnie gained more yards this year by running right than running left. Shelton is fine at RG, Hadnot's good at C. It's the left side of the line that needs help at this point. If at all possible, we should try to trade up in order to get Joe Thomas. Slot him at Left Tackle, and Daunte Culpepper will have all the time he needs in 2007.

Him and Ronnie Brown are the only untouchables on our offense.

You mean to tell me you wouldnt choose Vick; even after the one game he was finally activated for and Saban never put him in for one play.

D***hbag Saban

Interesting so what they are saying here is that Miami is incredibly weak up LG/Center. So much so that it dragged down the rest of the OL.

That's how I'm reading it.

Carey definately has come on strong under Houck.

James definately looks more like a cap casualty and this just confirms my suspicion that Hadnot is really overrated and isn't the 'center of the future' like the one newspaper called him.
