In the post practice interview, I was very impressed with Jason Allen. Specifically, I was impressed by the way he created his own version of Dolphins training camp in Atlanta while he was waiting for his contract to be completed. This guy is serious about football. It was obvious that he has the nature of a leader too. He made a HUGE comment about one day leading the defense. I know he has a looooong way to go before leading the defense, but that just shows everyone where his goals are.

So I don't expect any physical problems from Allen unless he gets banged up a bit in practice. His development that needs the most attention is with team chemistry and playbook knowledge. The only way to get that is to do it over a long period of time. So don't expect to see Allen in the game this Saturday. He may get thrown in a couple times when the defense is running something that he already understands. But there is no way he will know enough to start or stay in for long periods of time.

I definitely see him getting lots of action against the Bucs next weekend. I also think he has a good shot at taking the starting job from Hill. It will be close. I am looking forward to watching that competition.

Good post, but it's Tillman's spot he will take, Hill will start alongside him.

:yeahthat: With Allen and Hill starting, the Dolphins should have one of the fastest secondaries in the league, and even though Daniels isn't a burner, it's not like he's a scrub either.

Yeah, I was impressed with his demeanor as well. If he can play up to the level of his attitude, he'll be the kind of guy who can improve the play of those around him.

Let's hope RB alias H2 monster takes it easy with him... Those highlight videos were nasty! But he looks like a great guy and hopefully he will become with Channing and Roth the future leaders on the D...

Good to have another player who wants to lead and not just be part of the team. We need strong, vocal players to lead this team. JA will get there some day.

A lot of speed and atheleticism has been added to the safey position with the drafting and now finally the signing of Allen. Here's hoping he will be intricate cog to the Defense and wearing aqua and orange many years to come!
