GOOD LORD !!!! PTSD ?! Seriously.......WTF !?

Guys, maybe Martin does have PTSD. The truth is the ultimate defense. He was bullied, beaten, and had his manhood taken away from him in every NFL game he played in. I can agree with that. he may To use PTSD as the excuse to leave the Dolphins is absolute BS of the purest kind. I used to think he was the victim in all this, and may still ultimately be, but to play this card galls me. The boy needs to grow a set of nards and be a man. With all the bridges he's burning he may not be able to get a job as a porn show booth scrubber when its all said and done.

I am by no means saying he as it. I too believe it's bull****. But let's take everything into consideration:
PTSD Causes
Originally, PTSD was applied to the military experience, but in fact, there are many traumatic events that cause the disorder. According to Sidran Foundation (one of our leading trauma organizations) the anxiety disorder PTSD appears in “Anyone who has been victimized or has witnessed a violent act, or who has been repeatedly exposed to life-threatening situations.”

What is Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?

When in danger, it’s natural to feel afraid. This fear triggers many split-second changes in the body to prepare to defend against the danger or to avoid it. This “fight-or-flight” response is a healthy reaction meant to protect a person from harm. But in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), this reaction is changed or damaged. People who have PTSD may feel stressed or frightened even when they’re no longer in danger.

PTSD develops after a terrifying ordeal that involved physical harm or the threat of physical harm. The person who develops PTSD may have been the one who was harmed, the harm may have happened to a loved one, or the person may have witnessed a harmful event that happened to loved ones or strangers.

PTSD was first brought to public attention in relation to war veterans, but it can result from a variety of traumatic incidents, such as mugging, rape, torture, being kidnapped or held captive, child abuse, car accidents, train wrecks, plane crashes, bombings, or natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes.

Some posters are like a pack of barking-crazed Chihuahuas going ape-**** whenever some one rings the doorbell.

PTSD can be from many things and not just war veterans.

Give him his money and wish him well
as grand marshal at all those San Francisco parades

This is an insult to any vet or someone that went through a violent life or death situation.

Seriously. What a POS. I have friends who fought in Irag and are truly f'd in the head. To hide behind this days after Veterans Day is a complete insult.

this confirms he will never play again .....but thn there are good drugs.....hey i'm cured!

ready to play coach!

I am going to wait to see how this plays out. Anyone that thinks that it isn't possible to get PTSD by going to work every day in a hostile work environment is flat out wrong. Let ALL the facts come out and then call Martin a liar if you believe he is.

Get the **** outta here.

I wonder if he is staying awake for days on end, and when he does sleep is he waking up w/ palpitations, diaphoretic, and in terror because of nightmares? does he find himself having flashbacks that trigger mania and homicidal or suicidal ideations? I just find it hard to believe he has any form of severe PTSD; unless he was getting butt****ed or had some near death experience that is yet to be released.

He wasn't on a gun truck running up and down Route Irish, that's for mother****ing sure.

PTSD....What the **** ever.

Your straight up smoking crack. PTSD is reserved for veterans of WAR. Please do not disgrace the true heroes of this country by saying that Martin could possibly suffer from PTSD.

Lucky?
While I agree martin's ptsd is bogus, its ignorant to say ptsd is limited to veterans, even foolish. What about victims of violent crime, child abuse, rape victims, etc?
