Good news: FB Polite signed to 2 yr extension

all the guy does is make first downs, and some real big ones last year

Another shiny nugget in the FO's ability to pan for gold. No reason to think he won't continue to be "money" for us. Good move.

good move by our FO signing that 1st down machine...

He must have put on some weight and really impressed during the offseason weight program. He seemed like a solid but unspectacular luchpail kind of guy. I figured the front office would have looked to upgrade FB this year or next. For him to get extended this early in the season, he must have been been a beast in the weight room.

well,he pretty much is a lunchpail kinda guy,but he got us 1st downs when we needed them, and i'm pretty sure he will again...

Is it three or two years?

ESPN: Lousaka Polite signs 3-year extension

by Brian Biggane Fullback Lousaka Polite, one of the unsung heroes of the Dolphins’ 2008 success story, was rewarded for his efforts Saturday when he signed a three-year contract extension worth $3.7 million, ESPN’s John Clayton reported.
Polite, 27, who was on and off Bill Parcells’ roster in Dallas numerous times from 2004 to 2006 and spent part of the 2007 season with Chicago, gained 85 yards on 23 carries, but proved to be unstoppable in short-yardage situations.
Polite was given the ball eight times on either third-and-1 or fourth-and-1 situations and picked up the first down each time. The Dolphins went on to score on seven of those eight drives, getting a touchdown six times and a field goal on the seventh. Thirteen of his 23 carries came on third or fourth down.
Polite, 27, played his college ball at Pitt, where he was the first three-time captain in Panthers history.
The 6-foot, 245-pounder had been scheduled to earn $620,000 next season.
