Good News on Injury Front? Per Mando

Hope Daniel Thomas can get better. He is the only 'power back' we have right now.

Its early in the week, but I figured they would be down until Friday. So, I am kind of surprised.

Excellent news. I know Michael Thomas is more of a slot corner and safety, but if we have to get into significant depth again, I might trot him out more than Will Davis. Of course, Manuel and Geno Smith are hardly Tom Brady anyway.

Man, there have got to be some bummed bills fans knowing our "injured" players are out there getting work today.

I heard him on the radio this morning and he said he did not think Carroll or Big Paul would be able to practice this week and it did not sound good, he said he thought Grimes would go. so thats a a major change, for the good so far! I think Thomas may be a problem still.

I think Will Davis could be OK if he gets more work. How much work could Davis or Thomas possibly have gotten last week, and yet they did well enough to keep NE out of the endzone. give them some actual defensive team reps and these guys could surprise. Both seem to have decent measurables.

The growth in Carroll's game this season has been awesome, and that kind of teaching has been in very short supply in the last few decades. Both Davis and Taylor (if he could ever get healthy) were much more accomplished defensive backs coming out of college than Carroll was, and Carroll really floundered as a defensive back until recently. Our guys are getting coached up right, and Ireland seems to be finding guys who have good intuition and learned skill to go with at least decent athletic ability. As I said before, Michael Thomas made two plays that display a great deal of understanding of necessary db skill.
