The growth in Carroll's game this season has been awesome, and that kind of teaching has been in very short supply in the last few decades. Both Davis and Taylor (if he could ever get healthy) were much more accomplished defensive backs coming out of college than Carroll was, and Carroll really floundered as a defensive back until recently. Our guys are getting coached up right, and Ireland seems to be finding guys who have good intuition and learned skill to go with at least decent athletic ability. As I said before, Michael Thomas made two plays that display a great deal of understanding of necessary db skill.
