Good News on Injury Front? Per Mando

One snap is all it takes to lose a game.

That's very true for our team except in our case it's usually win a game. He isn't that big of a liability though. Keeping winning and keeping talented players healthy while developing younger players is a though balance.

The growth in Carroll's game this season has been awesome, and that kind of teaching has been in very short supply in the last few decades. Both Davis and Taylor (if he could ever get healthy) were much more accomplished defensive backs coming out of college than Carroll was, and Carroll really floundered as a defensive back until recently. Our guys are getting coached up right, and Ireland seems to be finding guys who have good intuition and learned skill to go with at least decent athletic ability. As I said before, Michael Thomas made two plays that display a great deal of understanding of necessary db skill.

Well I am going to have to disagree. If you go back and watch the tape Thomas was beaten by 5 yards on the 4th and 8 they converted. Thankfully Jones was there to save the TD. And on the interception he was covering the slot and was beaten so bad he was closer to the outside WR than his man. Don't get me wrong, it was his first NFL game ever so you can't expect too much, but lets not start thinking he is on Nolan Carroll's level. He is a safety who was forced to play CB on a team he had been on for a week. He was lost and knew it, and so did Brady. Luckly Brady threw it to the wrong WR. If he had thrown it over the top to Michael's man it would have been an easy TD.

I don't think he was beat. I think the play was disguised for him to drop back in zone while the safety pick up the slot and it worked

Still, playing him in a limited role the next to weeks will help his development and rest starters a bit. 5-10 snaps a game wouldn't be horrible.

Would be awesome if we could clinch next week with a win and raven and bengals loss then throw Davis,Taylor and Thomas to start against the jets to get some reps and expierance. I'd like to see Gillisee get some carries as well.

The int play you are talking about was just the coverage called. Remember the pick that Tannehill threw vs Carolina with the slot corner faking one way then dropping back? Essentially the same thing. The knockdown on amendola was extremely impressive and no one really brings it up but Brady passed to the flats to vereen (their most dangerous offensive player) and Thomas made a huge tackle for a mere 3 yard gain that caused the pats to use their first timeout.
