Good Night to MONDAY NIGHT..

I feel bad, I liked michaels and Madden as a combo

seperatly they arnt so great....but together they make a funny, team....R.I.P monday nights on abc
 
Big freakin deal. MNF isn't over. It's over for ABC but not football fans.
 
yawn. ABC didn't do anything for football....

Peter King had a great analogy - its like a restaurant and the waiters... you are there for the food, who cares who the waiter is - you don't go just for the waiter. If they change waiters, you still go for the food.

we watch it for the football - not because of what channel its on. We will watch it regardless.

the only difference now is more people will now get the game in HD.

local affiliates can choose whether or not they want to broadcast it - sure ABC sends them a HD feed -but since the local affiliates may or may not be equipped to do so, they don't always broadcast in HD. I am in the 8th largest city in the US, and our crappy local affiliates don't broadcast in HD.

ESPN always does, though.... ESPN and fox. ESPN does anywhere, since it is not a local affiliate anywhere, but a cable channel.

ABC = HD for some people
ESPN = HD for everyone

its making more people happy more of the time! :D
 
MNF moves to 8:30 next year as well. Another plus!

actually its now going to be a case of the brown drizziling shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiits. Expect crappy match-ups like New Orleans vs Arizona and what not. Sunday Night has got the better TV deal with playoffs and super bowls and better match-ups.

Monday Night is going to be garbage.

basically Monday Night Football will become Sunday Night Football and Vice Versa. The best matchups will be on Sun Night especially late in the year w/ the flexible scheduling.

and the flex schedule thing is overrated also. I think its only in effect starting in week 10 and ending in week 14 or something. It's a small window where games can be moved. It's not all season and its not the last few weeks of the season

The flex scheduling is for the final 7 weeks of the year so that's a big deal. In the first half(which includes the Thurs Night Opener) the macthups should be better b/c teams shouldn't be out of it by then and then they get the flex sched the last 7 weeks. They have by far the better package.
