Ok, there's talk of the Mia-NY game getting flexed to the night game, which means if NE wins, and NYJ are out no matter what, they'll know it before the Mia game. Question:

Would you rather play the Jets with everything on the line, or with them deflated for missing the PO? If they have nothing to play for does it make our job easier or harder? It's a tough call.

1) No one can argue that the jets with no PO hopes will still be as emotional and relentless
2) However, I hate playing teams with nothing to play for when it's do or die for you (see today). The Jets will take risks, they'll go for it on fourth downs etc. It can actually hurt us, especially if we 'scared to lose.' How manyy times have we seen that over the years (Wanny years especially).
3) Not to get conspiratorial, but do you think there'll be any feelings on the other bench about NE getting in? Do you think Mangini wants to send Hoodie into the playoffs? Do you think there's a chance that some Jets (maybe guys like coles) would like to see Chad go through -- even on a subconscience level. I'm not suggesting that any player or coach will throw the game or play soft, but maybe, just maybe if Mia gets to a decent lead, the effort on the Jets will simply fizzle out. Just throwing it out there...

Interested in your thoughts...

PS: i hate ESPN & NFL network. I'm looking for highlights of today's games, and it's all Jets. I have to wait through Mangini's press conference, then farve's... come on already...But I digress.

Point number 3 is a bit far fetched imo...

What the hell is wrong about being from canada?

Agreed, but I'm just wondering if Mangini will go balls out to send NE in. That's all.

Anyway, I think the point is moot, 'cause I read that SD-DEN will probably gets flexed

I don't care what the players or coaches say, the Jets will be demoralized if they go into the Miami game knowing that what they do wont matter. It's not like the Jets are a team that has overachieved the entire season and can take some solace with a winning season (like Miami). This is a team that not only had playoff expectations, but with the Favre acquisition, SuperBowl aspirations.

But the players are professional and I certainly don't expect a cakewalk. I'm sure some of the players would love to ruin our season. Honestly I was more concerned with getting to this point than I was with beating the Jets. There's something about this team that leads me to feel confident that they'll beat the Jets.

All I know is that next week will be a real nail bitter. I'll be lucky to survive the entire game
