This is Big Bill's show, and Little Bill desperately wants it shut down. Back in September, Miami embarrassed the Patriots on their home field with a formation that didn't include a quarterback in the backfield. New England had won a record 21 consecutive regular-season games before running into the Dolphins, who had lost 20 of their previous 21. That's why Belichick had this to say of Parcells' reemergence in the AFC East:

"I don't like it. I think Bill's record speaks for itself. He's rebuilt a lot of programs and he's done it very quickly. I spent obviously a lot of time with Bill and I have a lot of respect for him with what he does and how well he does it. I hate to have to compete against that in this division ... "

I just finished reading this and was coming here to post it. Very interesting article.

i personally think&believe Parcells has and will always have the better legacy...

I think so too.

Belichick my have the better SB record and postseason record, but lets see him turn a pathetic team into a competitor FOUR times.

Belichick - FAILED as a HC his first time around. Would have probably failed a second time if Bledsoe didn't get injured.

Parcells - Has had success everywhere he has gone. He may not stay long enough to see the end result, but who cares. He puts in a formula for success. It's up to the staff that is put in place afterwards to stick to what needs to be done.

Dallas, for example, was a winner with him there. It remains to be seen whether it will all be thown away now that he's gone. The point is....he puts the pieces in place, it up to his successor to not screw up once he's gone.

So because Belichick is loyal and sticks with his teams, he's a lesser coach? He brought the Browns back to respecablity, at least until thw owner quit of him mid-season. Thats got nothing to do with BB.

He may end up turning around his 3rd team someday, but, unlike Parcells, he doesn't hold his team hostage from year to year. Parcells quit on the Pats, quit on the Jets and he quit on the Cowboys.

Who cares you say? Every team he leaves in the lurch. SOmeday he'll leave the FIns, and, if history is any judge, he'll leave them in cap hell.

Go look at Parcells record with the Giants his 1st 3-4 years. Until BB took over the defense, they were losers. Dallas was a winner? No playoff victories in Parcells time with the team.

are you serious dude? he only had 1 winning season as HC of the Browns, and that was because he had Saban as his DC...the rest of his time there he was mediocre at best...and look how he started out with your Pats..he didn't start out good at all,as a matter of fact he was being mediocre again until Bledsoe got hurt...go back and take a look at BB's record as a HC prior to Bledsoe getting hurt...you'll see that his record was mediocre at best minus that 1 season with the Browns...

First of all he has never left any team in Cap hell. The Jets and Cowboys had cap problems when he got there and both had cap room when he left.

Second he didnt quit on the Pats he and Kraft were not compatible.....Bill can not work for an owner who is out there with his stop watch timing potential draft picks. (That worked out well for Kraft) The reason he left the Jets was the Owner he signed up for Died (hess) and cheap *** medling Woody Johnson took over and he resigned from coaching to try and keep Belicheat from going to a Division Rival.

Third ask a Jet fan how loyal he is "I resign as HC of NYJ" fax was a classic ******** move.

Fourth it was two yrs of the Giants and that was before FA in football so it took a few years longer to turnover a roster than it does now.

Out of all the teams besides the Giants you guys should be kissing his big fat hairy *** and worshiping the ground he walks on. The franchise was one of the worst in history and without his 4 yrs there you guys would still suck.

Typical Boston sports fan.......this is exactly why everyone hates your Fans.
