Good read

Reading that just made me a little more depressed. That we are paying Howard so much money. I can't believe what we could get for it. When I first began to read it, I thought the article was going to talk about our salary cap room for next year, 21.5 mil. But no, then the article took a sudden turn and said it was what we paid for Reggie??? Epsecially when we had Surtain and Madison. I almost had a seizure!!! And how can we give CC more of a signing bonus than TO. I can't believe how incopitent Wanny and Spielman were. I can't believe they were here for so long with what they were doing.
 
I still can't get over this article. Especially when it talks about all the thing we could of had, Freeney, Brees and Gates, yada yada yada......

I have to find someway to stop thinking about this. It's killing me that we would give Howard, Reggie Howard that kind of money. Why?????????? He was going to be a back up anyway!!!!!!!!!
 
Kind of reminds me of the big contract the Raiders gave to CB Larry Brown (Cowboys) simply because he played on a SB team and Neil O'Donnell made him look all world. Do they not do in depth scouting on these players before offering them big contracts?
BTW, how long was that contract to Howard?

The article was close on, but one exception I'd take if I were Saban is that BB inherited a Parcells team that had some talent already...Saban does not exactly have that advantage as BB...

One other point about the money is that it is not just the total dollars spent, but how it affects the cap...while you could get Reed and Freeney, you couldn't keep them for together for very long, but the point is very very very well taken...we have had some major mismanagement of not just the cap/salary scale but the talent evaluation as well..
 
That article made me sick to my stomach. In a few years we'll be a power. But knowing what Howard alone is costing us and what Wanny did to this team is an embarrassment.
