Starters played well led by Tannehill, 12 of 15 for 102, 1 TD, and a QBR of 117. The OL played well, giving up 1 sack for 3 yards. The D gave up 0 points, and had a VG goal line stand.

I was looking for LaMike to play well, which he did, and Aikens to show he belongs, which he did. Feeling pretty good on the play of our starters.

Your thoughts?

I started watching at the beginning of the Panthers drive that ended in a goal line stand unfortunately, I heard aikens has been beat a few times?also, how did turner and Thomas play?

Yea I'd say this was another good performance for our starters. They certainly have not disappointed this preseason.

I do wanna see them air it out a bit more. Doesn't have to be a 30 yard pass . . . but I feel like of the 15 passes, there were 2 deep balls (Stills/Cameron) and 13 passes in that 0 to 10 yard range. Wanna see some more intermediate stuff if possible . . . maybe see Cameron in the middle of the field or even Landry. Other than that, Tannehill improvised well on that toss to Miller . . . on that fumble he could of stepped up but you can't put Sims by himself on the DE. Still impressed how far he has come with his ball placement . . . good stuff from him. OLine was once again solid, not perfect, but solid. Good to see K Still out there. Defense was bored after those first 2 drives and Carolina got a few gains on them after the turnover by Williams at the 1 . . . but man they are impressive.

Didn't like the b.s call on the fumble by Williams.then Taylor goes off again.the guy is made of glass wtf.the line held up good but RT got lucky on a few forced throws .hope he doesn't force thing like that when the games are real

Well he did have that dart to Matthews on 3rd down for 17 yards.

I agree tho, but it seems Lazor's offense is a ball control offense.

Next game should be interesting. Falcons new defensive front is playing with live demo this pre-season and they're going to want a good showing. But their offensive line resembles ours with a lot of question marks. It's a good test in week three where both teams will be having their states l starters in longer for a dress rehearsal.

Just wanted to point out Tannehill had a beautiful deep pass with fantastic touch that landed right in Cameron's hands. It was either tipped by the corner or just plain dropped by Cameron, but it was a big improvement in placement for Tannehill.

Yea good call, that was a dart to Matthews, solid route and great ball placement.

Glad you understand where I'm coming from . . . and I don't mind ball control offense, but I just worry about the constant worry of sustaining these drives without error. It ain't easy. Like some more chunk plays, a few quick score . . . . I will say I think our defense will put us in some really good positions this year . . . so that will help as well.

Yea, that was a great throw . . . just a good play by everybody (except Cameron if he let it go through his hands . . . . I'll give Shaq the credit for now tho).

I agree with this too.

I think with the full lineup of WRs there will be more chunk plays. Miller made a chunk play, which sometimes gets overlooked, other players besides the qb have to make **** happen.

also, how did turner and Thomas play?

I think it was Turner that whiffed/got beat on first play of game tackle for a loss on Miller. But oline seemed solid after. Saw Dallas manhandle his man a few times, but didn't watch close enough to oline to give too much info.

We're gonna see a lot more beautiful deep passes this year.

Lamar Miller is a stud. Dude can flat out fly and his vision is improving, as well as his toughness and determination.
It's like Knowshon Moreno came here and Miller took his essence and assimilated it, adding to his sicko speed.

All in all i'm happy with where we are and where we are headed. What i saw from Miller, Matthews, Tanny, Landry, Cameron. Man i absolutely love this team. and the defense came to compete tonight....only major conern for me was that Davis has been the biggest disappointment of the night.

Both of those drives on which the Dolphins scored on 4th and goal in the first game and 5th and goal today would have ended in FGs in the regular season. That needs to improve, hopefully it would with more interesting playcalling.

Not sold on Aikens yet.
