Tight end Miami gave up on

Seems we are always searching for a good tight end then we give the good ones away. I wish we still had one of these guys! Sometimes we give up on a player way too soon!

Desmond Clark stunk with us. He missed 5 games and only had 2 catches. And that year we drafted McMichael who was supposed to be our TE of the future.

Donald Lee was not a good TE when he was here, he was a dropping machine. Worse than Hagan.

and David martin was a good TE who just couldn't stay healthy when he was in Green Bay.

I don't know, maybe that's just a coincedence....but it looks like both these guys were better in GB then they were in Miami. Maybe it has something to do with the guy throwing them the ball, or the line protecting that guy, or the coaches calling the plays, or the combination of all those things.

David Martin has never been a good TE. The guy never could block his own shadow.

Yeah we gave up on a lot of players. Could you imagine the life long list of players we gave up on? Especially the ones that produced once they left Miami, good god that would be long........

touche.

good may have been a stretch, but he certainly wasn't considered a complete waste of a roster spot on GB, or when he first got here, like he is now.

Maybe you can attribute bad coaching and bad coaches to the lack of effort of evaluating talent.

If Stan Van Gundy was a football coach, he would maximize an athletes potential. Coaches have a big ego and romance with certain players that they refuse to let go.

Have to agree with that, Lee was no good while he was here. And in the same way, Martin looked very good at times in Green Bay. Think Farve has something to do with this? I woudn't be too upset that we lost those guys, and as good as McMichael looked he took too many plays off to be a good player. I don't miss any of them.

so true.i for one think the hatred for hagan is a little extreme.yes hagan has made many errors, but he also has showed good ability that with the right teaching he could develop into a very good player for us.i think lee is a good example of that thought.when lee was here you could see he had the ability to be a good TE he ran very well and got open alot he just made too many mistakes that eventually cost him.i think hagan will turn it around this year.hes getting a fresh start in a fresh system with a coaching staff that is very good in developing their players and i think hes gonna change some opinions around here.

As I stated in another thread, I still think we're damned fools for not doing anything with Anderson.

Neither do I... McMichael turned into such a disappointment after his 3rd year his play steadily declined in terms of touchdowns and blocking, he got a wicked bad case of the dropsies too.

Such a disappointment

Unfortunately that has been the theme around here for the last few years. Hopefully we wont have to worry about that anymore with BP, JI and TS running the show.

I couldn't agree more. I'll never forget his immaculate blocking downfield for James McKnight's reverse for a TD at the Meadowlands against the Giants.

So much potential down the drain!

Of the college TEs mentioned in the RF365 article, I personally am rooting for Martellus Bennett. A guy who almost attended UM and changed his jersey number to honor Kevin Everett this past season.
