Goodbye Tannehill

AKA.... you have no rebuttal because I am right.

Sorry about your screen name. With that name I'd think you were a diehard Tannehill supporter. Now it's yours forever and you don't even like the guy. Hahahahahahahaha! That's some classic SHIZ right there.

4 stinkers in a row for Tannehill

QBR in last 4 games

45.6, 42.1, 79.9 and 73.6

4 TD's and 5 Ints and 705 yards passing for 4 full games.

Pretty comparable to a 4 game stretch in weeks 7-10 in his 1st year, BTW we went 1-3 in those games also.

RTSuperbowl2014 must be WVDolphan's other account. After 2 games in a new offensive system and you're gonna spew this garbage? Give me a break.

I'm still waiting for him to admit the guy he's been fluffing since 09 who went 4-12 last season, also scored 10pts yesterday throwing 1 TD and 3 Ints with 2 elite and 1 very good receivers healthy and has a total of 1 almost choked -away postseason win (out of 4 prof and 1 college) after being up by 20 at the half is not a "winner" as he has described before I can afford his opinion any objective credibility when it comes to any other QB. As the popular 09 alternative selection, considering Arthur Blank paid him $103.5M for 1 postseason win, familiar 2nd half disappearnces, despite exceptional receiving and TE weapons supporting him, surely that makes the QB we well might have traded up to get, Joe Flacco's 9 postseason wins including a Superbowl 7yr $127mil contract a bargain

Our line got destroyed in the first half because after NOSHOW went out, we didn't run the ball. Play calling was terrible. Second half we come out, running the ball or at least balanced and look decent. Then the special teams takes a ****. Then the defense takes a **** and we get robbed on that should have been fumble out of the endzone.

I saw maybe 3 passes he could have thrown better, the deep ball to Wallace that he could have still made a play on and didn't. a swing pass to lamar no hands miller that still hit him in the hands and the screen to simms. def nto ready to bring in scrub matt moore over that.

On a positive Tannehill note, in his 3rd year he now knows all teams that play in the AFC East. Just look out in year four. Now that Daniel Thomas is back we're talking Super Bowl.

I was..... and I was wrong.

Unlike these other blind followers I can admit it when the guy is regressing and not improving.

If he turns it around, it will be forgotten. If not, it's gonna be time to hire that plane to circle Dolphins HQ. ;-) Time to sharpen those pitchforks, boys!

this is about the same point in career that Chad Henne was benched.

Chad Henne stats before week 5 2011 benching

31 starts, 13-18 record
639 of 1053 (60.6%) 7047 yards 31 TD's and 37 Ints, QBR 75.7, Yards per attempt 6.691

Ryan Tannehill

34 starts, 16-18 record.
686 of 1153 (59.5%) 7626 yards 39 TD's and 32 ints, QBR 78.9, Yards per attempt 6.614

You all wanted to drive Shouright away but it is looking like he was spot on.

I thought this guy was the one. But it has become evident he is not.

Year 3 is supposed to be the year, and he has made no progress.

He is inaccurate, and that's not going to change. He can throw it into a WR "catch zone", but he can't lead WR and can't hit them in stride. Franchise QB's can do that. He is still holding onto the ball too long, and pocket presence continues to be an issue.

It's over, and anyone that says otherwise needs to take off their aqua and orange glasses.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! It's Week 2. Look, you could very well be right. I actually expect you to be right. But if turns the corner this year at some point and finishes strong, threads like this will be forgotten. A lot can happen in a season. But one thing is certain, no matter what you or anyone here thinks, he's going to finish this season as our starting QB. After that? That's another issue. But saying goodbye after Week 2 is pretty pointless.

The facts are hard to run away from.

What longtime NFL scout Dan Shonka said about Ryan Tannehill:

2012 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about RYAN TANNEHILL: Texas A&M, 6037 221 4.65. Started 19 games at quarterback in his career and ran an NFL scripted offense installed by former Packer head coach Mike Sherman. He caught 11 passes for 143 yards before moving over to quarterback at mid-season in 2010. Played under center and also in the shotgun. A right-handed passer with good arm strength and athletic ability. Athletically Tannehill has certain critical factors and position specifics that are holding him back. Book smart but does he process football information quickly at the line of scrimmage or on the run? There were several cases where he could have easily run for a first down and he threw a poor pass or threw the ball away. Consistency was best against weaker opponents. Against Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas, and Oklahoma State his record was 0-6 and he had a 12/12 TD/INT ratio. He averaged 5.7 yards per attempt in three games completing 57% of his passes. His decision making and field vision are in question because of throwing into double coverage and forcing the ball into coverage. He doesn’t seem comfortable in the pocket. Throws best on roll out and sprint out type action. Ball placement has been inconsistent, struggling to put the ball where the receiver doesn’t have to adjust before running. Despite his tall stature his delivery point is low and gets several tipped passes. Must develop quarterback sixth sense in the pocket. He has the athletic tools to play quarterback, but lacks the game time experience of several quarterbacks coming out. He needs to improve on his accuracy, “feel” for the position, decision making, game management, and consistency. As a wide receiver, Tannehill caught 112 passes good for 4th in school history and gained 1596 yards which ranked him 5th on the Aggie all-time list. He also scored 10 receiving touchdowns. He is the only FBS player with 3000 passing yards and 1500 receiving yards to his credit. He also has a 400-yard passing game and a 200-yard receiving game. Grades out as a good backup who may be an eventual starter with developmental time. 2011 stats: 327/531, 3744 passing yds, 61.6%, 29 TDs, 15 INTs. Did not work out at the Combine. Second/third round. (A-32 5/8, H-9, SS-DNP, VJ-DNP).

Hmmm that sounds EXACTLY like what I said what we drafted him (sucked in big spots in big games) and everybody flamed me for it... I still believe we'd be better off with Luke Kuechly and Matt Moore (or perhaps even Russel Wilson or Cousins) than we are with Tannehill.

thanks, I'm going to post this every time someone start in about how Tannehill needs more time or he's about to turn a corner... lol. delusional morons.

I don't think the stats tell the whole story here. Tannehill obviously has his issues but I think just by watching them both you can clearly see that Tannehill has more upside and talent than Henne did here.

The fact is, as I said 2 and 3 ****ing years ago, Tannehill, while he has all the arm talent and athleticism you could ever ask for in a QB, was very raw when he was coming out of college and he still seems to be that way. I honestly don't see a whole lot in the way of the improvement that I wanted to see by this point.
He doesn't make horrible decisions or turn the ball over at a high rate the way that Henne did, but he still has big accuracy issues and he just doesn't seem to have the ability to carry the team when he needs to the way that the big time QBs do.
All in all, I find it hard to place the entirety of this team's faults on one player in Tannehill when they go out and have the kind of all around GOD AWFUL performance that they did yesterday, but while we could certainly do a whole lot worse at QB, we could do a whole lot better as well. Obviously if Tanny can put it all together then he can be a great QB, but I personally feel like he's the type of player that won't ever really fulfill his potential. In order to fully come into his own he definitely needs a better o line than he has now, for as well as they played against the Pats, they were equally horrendous yesterday. So bad.

Wait until next week when we play the chiefs. Tannehill will set the world on fire and everybody will be singing his praises. I don't know about anybody else, but it's the inconsistency that is driving me crazy. Do we have a legit QB or not?

He hasn't improved at all.

based off two games this year? Come on man

Let's put some of this on Lazor. Wasn't this supposed to be a push the pace offense?? The only no huddle I have seen was when they clipped the Bills 30 yard line in the second half. They didn't use it at all really vs the Pats. I am confused why the philosophy of Lazor isn't being utilized at this point
