I like this potential move. 4 preseason games is way too much. It would be fun to have an extra 2 games that actually mean something. Hopefully this happens.

I hate the idea. Every single season record will now be crushed. Baseball knows they play way too many games. But for statistical reasons they will not ever change the length of the season. 16 weeks is just fine. They just need to get rid of 2 preason games.

18 games would seem better as we would get more football, but I dont know if its the best option.

That means a longer season which also means alot more injuries. For revenue & buisness purposes it seems like the right move, but from a players standpoint, Im not sure.

But records have already been tarnished from increasing the schedule from 12 to 14 and now to 16.

If it goes to 18, Peyton Manning would have the inside track to break all of Favre's new records. Adrian Peterson would shatter the running records that LT would get so set and Randy Moss might even be able to take a swing at Jerry Rice's records. Could be interesting.

Guys can barely stay healthy for a 16 game season. The 4th preseason game is usually used to determine the final few roster spots. I have no problem with removing them. Rather than expanding the season I think the NFL should add an extra team to the playoffs in each conference.

I think that having 4 preseason games this year was of great benefit to Miami in talent/roster evaluations. Off hand I can think of two players that might not have made the team without those last two preseason games, Martin and Camarillo.

To a team with a set roster and few holes to plug, two preseason games would be enough.

To a team dealing with rebuilding, change of coaches or change of schemes, 4 games is invaluable.

If they go 18 they need to drop to 2 preseason games
