Most people on this forum don't think Marshall should be punished for the events that took place between he and his wife this summer. I am definitely in that group. However, Michael Silver reports that Goodell will be punishing 8 repeat offenders while letting roughly close to 2 dozen go without punishment. The link for the article is below.

I did a little research and found 23 players were arrested this offseason as well as Braylon Edwards and Albert Haynesworth reaching plea agreements and Marshall's altercation with his wife. Here is the list.

1. Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook was arrested for brandishing a hand gun during a fight.
2. Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Mario Henderson was arrested for a concealed weapon in his car.
3. Dallas Cowboys cornerback Bryan McCann was arrested for public intoxication
4. Green Bay Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly was arrested for possession of controlled substance (codeine).
5. Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters was arrested for loud music and resisting arrest.
6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
7. Oakland Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (viagra).
8. Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel was arrested for left of services.
9. Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was arrested for fleeing a police officer in a car and mary-j possession the next day.
10. Atlanta Falcons safety William Moore was arrested for speeding, suspended license and failure to appear in court.
11. San Diego Chargers linebacker Antwan Applewhite was arrested for DUI.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Alex Magee was arrested for possession of mary-j.
13. Chicago Bears running back Garrett Wolfe was arrested for theft, resisting arrest, assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct.
14. Indianapolis Colts running back Javarris James was arrested for possession of mary-j.
15. Seattle Seahawks defensive end Raheem Brock was arrested for theft of services and resisting arrest.
16. Green Bay Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood was arrested for an altercation with his wife.
17. Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Akeem Jordan was arrested for misdemeanor assault and battery.
18. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was arrested for DUI.
19. Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested for disorderly contact and resisting arrest.
20. Cincinnati Bengals safety Marvin White was arrested for simple assault.
21. Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson was arrested for DUI.
22. Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Jerry Hughes was arrested on for public intoxication.
23. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Paul Hubbard was arrested for DUI and striking an officer with his vehicle.
24. San Franciso 49ers receiver Braylong Edwards pleaded guilty to DUI.
25. New England Patriots defensive linemen Albert Haynesworth pleaded no contest to groping a waitress.
26. Last but not least Brandon Marshall, we all know the story.

Looking at this list I would say that Pacman, Benson, Edwards, Talib, Britt, Jolly, and Wolfe will probably all be suspended or fined games checks. That leaves 1 more person to feel Goodell's wrath. My guess is either Chris Cook or Mario Henderson as they both involved guns. Who do you think it will be?

Don't think Marshall will be punished since technically, allegedly, supposedly, he was the victim.

Britt was arrested 3 times, I heard, during the off season/lockout. No way he's not suspended. I would even say he gets the most severe punishment of all the players.

Youth + money + fame = dumb mistakes.

That's an awful lot of arrests. Glad Brandon is the only Fin on the list and he was the one stabbed.

If Marsh is suspended/punished that will be some of the biggest bull**** ever. Couldnt care less about the rest of that list.

Marshall will not get suspended.. All tho I never really thought Raplisburger should have been suspended either..He was never formely charged..He was just questioned..

I think Marshall is an idiot most of the time. However, on this one, why do people think he is the wrong? He was not charged with anything and IF anything is guilty of being a terrible husband. Sounds like his wife is strange as well.

He walks a fine line no doubt.

How can you have Edwards and Benson fined or suspended for their DUI, but not Paul Hubbard for DUI and striking a police officer with his car?

I have them listed because they are repeat offenders. I could definitely see Hubbard getting suspended or fined and just forgot to put him on my list.

brandon didnt do anything and was never charged therefore he wont be punished for not being charged w/ anything. pacman should be banned from the nfl.

I know it's an oversimplification, but if these transgressions occurred during the lockout, does Goodell/the league really have any provInce over those offenders? The lockout was owner-induced and if any free agents during this hiatus injured themselves practicing, I'm sure the individual teams would not be on the hook for anything related. Doesn't seem equitable to me and definitely worthy of some appeals with legal traction.

It's not an oversimplification, it's the simple and basic truth. The NFLPA should be ashamed of itself if it allows any punishment for violations that took place during the lockout to be upheld. I'd take them to court and be pretty sure of winning.

Just another item for my "Roger Goodell is a hateful *******" box.

heh...

7. Oakland Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (viagra).

How in the world would the players have not made sure there was a provision in the CBA saying they couldn't be punished for stuff that occurred during the league imposed lockout? This just sounds ridiculous to punish guys when they technically weren't employed by the NFL.

I'd give #8 to this guy

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Paul Hubbard was arrested for DUI and striking an officer with his vehicle.

lol
