This has been quietly debated for several months now. With all the state of the art stadiums with retractable roofs, weather is no longer an issue for the Super Bowl site. If Miami wants to continue hosting it, there is no choice except to build a new stadium or seriously upgrade Dolphins Stadium.

It's going to be tough getting the taxpayers to pony up the money to do it.

Weather should be a factor. Who the hell wants to travel to Indianapolis for a Super Bowl in the middle of February? I can't believe they picked that as a host city.

what the hell do you need all the fancy crap for? to charge us fans more money to go watch the game as if its not already expensive enough. If they build a new stadium to host the superbowl the regular season tickets will go up as well. Its all about money not the sport and im getting sick of it. The commercials during a game have gotten to be ridiculous over the years. Every 2 minutes theres a commercial. The NFL is a business, not a sport anymore.

Lets build a stadium on top of and high above our stadium. Change it from LandShark to 3/4 Mile High.

Exactly right. Guess we've moved to the point where now the venue is more important than the game.

I agree and disagree.

Landshark Stadium is not a desirable place to watch a game. As the article states the seats are too far away from the field, and compared to the modern stadiums built in this decade you just can't compare the facilities.

Obviously Miami is a desirable travel destination and desirable city with lots of bars and clubs and things to do, but our stadium is ancient by NFL standards and does indeed need significant upgrades.

cooooooooooompletely off topic...

habs flyers t'night space... wanna make a sig bet ? :dmonster:

Or we can change the field to a giant tv screen field, and have constant clips of Brett Favre, Tom Brady and the Cowboys while the game is going on. Innovative, and the NFL would love it.

What happened to Huizenga's plan?

Exactly! I remember him planning a whole sports complex! The glass on the stadium was supposed to just be the beginning! Wasn't he going to make a whole complex that was second-to-none? So much for the Dubai-like complex he pretended he would build. :boohoo: We need these guys to fix up our stadium.

Frankly I believe that they should rotate the Super Bowl to a new team every year. People say that you need a warm weather destination for all the pre-game activities... Indy hosting blows that out of the water. And I think it is ridiculous that the Super Bowl of FOOTBALL should be played in either dome controlled conditions or in warm tropical cities. Watching old schoolers battle it out in frigid snow covered conditions was the way this game was meant to be played.
