gordon for gerrard??? has anyone heard about this?

You're missing the point. Gordon is starter quality and Garrard is not going to unseat Leftwich which makes him expendable.

Gordon was a starter in Miami, the 2nd worst team in the NFL. Who had no RB, really. Garrard is behind a very good QB. Leftwich will be great. Garrard doesn't start for one simple reason... don't fix it if it isn' broken. Why put him in if Leftwich is playing well. Remember Tom Brady. Never got to play, until an injury, and all of a sudden people realized a few things.

LMAO Too many of you are focused on drafting a quarterback. When really drafting one is JUST as dangerous as trading. Except when you get ihm in the first round you get to pay him a huge contract. Quarterbacks only pan out like what, 20% of the time? Every single year there are about 4 QBs drafted in the first round. Yet in the NFL there are only what 15-20 "good" quarterbacks...

"good" being the gamebreaking standard you all wish to seek as we somehow know the next Marino will always be in the draft we are looking for a QB.

 No joke Sherlock! No one said were expecting the next Marino. Since drafts and trades are of equal risk in finding a gem at QB we should maximize every opportunity we get and not waste time with marginal talent. Gerrard has shown zero in the NFL and everyone is all over his jock. Laughable.

I'd like to hear what you suggest. If Garrard is so minimal in talent, then who should we seek? Have you even seen Garrard play? Or is your opinion based solely on the fact he is 2nd on the depth chart. Please do some reading and watch some videos before responding.

It is foolish to think Leinhart or anyone else who will be drafted has any better a chance at success than Garrard. Either way its a gamble...

First off, I never mentioned Leinart but since you throw it in there. Do you really think that the odds of Leinart making it in the NFL are equal to Gerrard? :rofl3:

I'm sure NFL scouts and Personnel men would all agree with you! Nuff said on this subject, with the above comment I can see there's no use in trying to have a rational discussion.

I am sure the scouts all said the same thing with Ryan Leaf and Rick Mirer and well... I guess I could list a hundred QB busts. But you still won't agree with my opinion.

Video of what?

The 10 NFL games he's played in where he put up an astounding 690 yards? How about the preseason footage where he squared off against training camp fodder in the final quarters? You mean that footage?

Get a grip!

Gordon showed his #1 talent in St Luis which is why we picked him up. Unfortunately he was hurt. Garrad will never unseat Leftwich, who will not be great IMO, and Jax has a need. That need is RB. So, they part with what they have, a QB, to get what they need, a RB. It's simple math regardless of your personal feelings about the players involved. Jax will do it if they feel obligated, if not, then they won't. I'm not sure why we are arguing the trade, I didn't report it, I'm just saying Gordon has as much value as the team needs (like us last year)

why is it that we keep going after back ups from jacksonville? before we do this trade, i hope we consider what happened last time we got a back up from the jags.

And that is why St. Louis drafted Jackson, and then traded Gordon away right? Because he is talented? Don't get me wrong he is a good player, but he is no better than Garrard.
