Gordon's Trade Value

Very simple criteria: any player whose spot on the final roster is in jeopardy has zilch trade value. The rest of the league has eyes and ears.

There may be extremely rare exceptions when a team is willing to offer a 7th if they really like a particular player and want to dodge a waiver wire fight, but those exceptions are too bizarre and unpredictable to contemplate.

The way Staley is going and w/ Bettis allegedly retiring @ season's end, Pittsburgh may be desperate.

I wonder if Miami could package LG & Derrius for a 4th & 7th.

I would say about a 5th. He hasn't shown much yet, which is kind of surprising. Then again, the running game as a whole hasn't done much yet.

This is going against everyone else, but yes I think he has trade value. Can we get 3rd round pick back for him? Heck No! However, I think he is worth a 6th or even a 5th rounder. Look, last year we traded Brad Bedell to the Packers for a 7th rounder in the 2006 draft and he was only a few days away from being cut by us. I really think a team like Jacksonville could potentially offer a 5th or 6th rounder to make sure they can get him at a cheap price. Even though Gordon has struggled lately, he would be a very hot comodity on the market if we just flat out released him.

Thanks Nublar your support means alot.

Sorry to break it to all the people that said he had no trade value, but you are all WRONG.

doesn't the player that is cut have to go through waivers? with the eagles having to wait until every other team passes on gordon? maybe they feel someone will claim him, and rather than take a chance, they give us a fifth rounder....

Since Philly has a hord of 4th round picks, 3 to be exact, they have plenty of middle round picks where we could at least get their 5th which will probably be at the end of the round.

The Dolphins are not just going to trade him alone. Lamar Gorden and someone else will be traded for atleast a fifth round pick...
