Ok guys , i live in Scotland but read plenty and watch as much college football as possible (about 4 games a week) , so heres my 1st mock this year , go easy on me .......

1 - Rolando McClain ILB , Alabama , 6-4 , 255lbs

Arguably the best inside linebacker in the draft and a perfect fit for our scheme. An organiser and leader who would anchor our defense for the next decade.

2 – Mardy Gilyard WR , Cincinnati , 6-1 , 180lbs

Not the #1 reciever we crave but an out and out playmaker , coupled with a free agent #1 and our passing attack becomes scary.

3 – Eric Norwood OLB , South California , 6-1 , 252lbs

Hope he drops to us here , a promising pass rusher who could make an immediate impact . If JP and JT are still around he will benefit and become a big part of our long term pass rush threat.

4 – Boo Robinson DT , Wake Forest , 6-2 , 295lbs

Perhaps need to put on a little weight but with a little coaching he could become a solid NT for us. Might be reaching here a little but we need an NT and his stock is rising. Perhaps rotating with Solai 1st season (assuming Ferg retires)but then I’d expect him to start full time.

6a – Marcus Easly WR , Connecticut , 6-2 , 219lbs

Someone posted about him here and his numbers certainly stand out. Given our need at WR he’s worth a shot if he drops to the 6th. Perhaps a sleeper who could become great.

6b – Shawn Lauvao OG , Arizona , 6-3 , 305lbs

Played at a decent level and will provide good depth to our Oline.

7a – Josh Pinkard CB/S , USC , 6-1 , 215lbs

Another depth player who in time could compete to start , again I’m not sure he goes this low but if he does then he’d be great value.

7b – Austin Spitler LB , Ohio St , 6-3 , 234lbs

Listed on some sites as ILB and OLB on others , don’t know too much about him but in the 7th he might be worth a gamble.

Ok guys fire away .........

Good draft in my opinion, with the exeption of the 2nd round WR....I would draft a WR next year ONLY if he is anything potentially different than what we have right now, which is a miriad of #2s and #3s....

lets see...

mcclain likely is top 15 pick

gilyard doesn't fit what we need per say

norwood i doubt with his pass rush skills is around but maybe

boo robinson isn't a nose

seems late for easley...

can't say i like it all that much

I have Gilyard and Pinkard on my mock as well.....I love McClain in the first but I think he will be gone before we pick, so that's the only reason I didn't list him. Pinkard tore both his ACL's at USC but he has bounced back pretty nicely and would be a nice low risk pick in the 6th or 7th round. Nice job!!!!

can't have it all m8 ..... i did think of a TE in rnd 2 or 3 but i like Gilyard and figured OLB was a bigger need than TE . With our scheme i know a pass catching TE would do wonders but i still think Fasano has alot to offer.

When I watch Mardy Gilyard...I get the same feeling about him that I had of Mike Wallace last year. Gilyard seems like he'll be a play maker in this league.

i posted Easley, however he is expected to be no later than a 3rd rounder.Certainly, the fact that hes 6 foot 2 and 216 and runs a 4.4 doesnt help much for him falling.Hes been consistant, only has 2 or 3 games w/o a TD,and had his biggest game of the year on the last regular season game against USF.

Im pretty sure Sparano has him on his radar,tho....

When there's a chance Dennis Pitta would be available in the 3rd or 4th, I don't like drafting D over him. He's a great pass-catching TE, and would really help take some pressure off both Henne and our WR corps, along with the addition of a playmaker like Gilyard.

I think you will see a running back taken in the first 3 rounds. I wouldnt be suprised if we took Tate or Dez Bryant in round 1. WR has been our obvious biggest weakness.

Only if RBrown is not re-signed, but we already have R.Williams, L.Hillard, P.Cobbs and L.Polite and don't forget K.Sheets. Where's the roster spot or need? I could see us trading Ronnie and not replacing him at all, not that I think we will but we have some nice depth there.

Why would we take another WR in the draft, Cam 4 years, Bess 2 years, Ginn 3 years, Hartline rookie! We need a vet not more youth at a position full of it already.

Maybe the semi surprise pick ends up being J.Gresham TE in the first but otherwise it should be defense, defense and more defense draft.

meh...i would take a rb in this draft...hilliard is nothing special... ronnie brown has been on ir 2 times in the last 3 seasons...cobbs was very good at his role but couldn't handle every down carries before the knee injury...ricky williams is 32 and said after next year he's hanging 'em up...

yeah i'd take a rb

ryan matthews of fresno state would be my target right now...3rd or 4th round

I don't see them taking a RB over WR/D-line. Maybe in the later rounds if someone like LaMarcus Coker drops down, he'd be a steal with our first 6 IMO.

I don't know if we should draft Gilyard. It'd be better if we just traded Ginn to Cincy for him. ;)

I agree. People seem to be forgetting that Ricky Williams will be gone after the 2010 season and who knows how both Ronnie Brown and Patrick Cobbs will recover from their injuries. The running back situation definitely could be addressed, even earlier than some might think.
