Big picture: We have been hanging with the best teams in the NFL. Obviously if we have let downs we'll lose, but come on, we were in every game but the Atlanta Game.
Despite our faults, we were in position to win the game Sunday against the Patriots in their place.
You know we're going to take it one game at a time, but I don't believe it's out of the question to win the next six straight. New England will be the tough one. We go 9-5 and we get Houston and Pittsburgh at home to finish out. Alot can happen.
Not saying we're guaranteed a playoff spot, but it's not THAT far fetched. Of the four teams in our division we played the good teams first. Now it's New England's turn. End of the year is the Jets.
Injuries can happen (look at Carolina - they just lost the heart of their defense).
I'm sorry, but If I'm New England, I'm not happy with that win. We were close to the end and were it not for a lack of pass rush, we win that game. We didn't have our starting middle linebacker and starting nose tackle and we still had a chance in the 4th quarter.
We just need to get on a roll like we did last year against average teams.
Dooable? Absolutely.
Bigger picture: We're on track. We have some obvious deficiencies (2 game breaking wide receivers, a great tight end and an elite free safety), but we're going in the right direction. How good has Henne been? Can you imagine if he had just one dominant receiver? Also, our Oline, with the exception of last week, has gotten better every week.
Anyways, I'm good with the team right now. I think we still have a shot (albeit difficult) at the post season and we're developing a personality. Did you hear what Norv Turner whispered to Sparano after we played them. Teams don't want to play us. They'll get a punch in the mouth and a solid game.
Let's make a run and see what happens.
(speaking of which, I know it's not right to hope that an opposing player gets hurt, but be honest, if Tom Brady had his shoulder ripped off in a game how many of you would shed a tear? Seriously? The way he's stomping his foot at the refs demanding a pass interference on every incompletion - like there had to be a penalty if he didn't complete a pass - I hate that guy.)
Upward and onward Dolphin fans. We're in good hands and the future is bright. It's just going to take a little while. And we better resign our best player hands down - Ronnie Brown.
