COACHING

A

The play-calling remains inventive, and Tony Sparano bets on his team on tough fourth-down calls.

I think this guy has been doing too much crack in the basement. The coaching staff continues to call the most conservative game plans against lesser opponents and allows them to stay in games. Are they telling Chad to not audbilize when he sees eight and nine man fronts? It sickens me to see the RBs continually jammed into the LOS when we are outnumbered at the point of attack. Mark my words, if we do not treat every team with the same aggressive attitude we display against the upper echelon teams, we are setting ourselves up for major dissappointment at the end of the year.:err:

I think we played Oakland cautiously bc truthfully, as bad as the Raiders are, their defense is actually pretty good. Its their offense that horrendous. Against Seattle and Denver, it was obvious the Dolphins wanted to play smashmouth style football (or try to atleast). Its becoming apparent our Oline, imo, is MUCH better as a pass blocking unit than as a run blocking unit but I think were improving in the run blocking category. I dont think Sporano wants Chad throwing 50 times a game (even though I think that could be successful). Sporano clearly wants to establish the run, at all costs, regardless of how many men are in the box. Good thing is however, that the Dolphins continue to show that when a score is NEEDED, we can get it from the accurate CP, much improved pass-blocking Oline, and sure-handed, no named recievers (Camarillo, Bess) + Ginn, Fasano, and even Martin's catching this year.

you speak as though we were expected to be the afc's number one seed. we already have won more games than most of us here, and all of the experts thought we would win, how could any be disappointed with that, even if we don't win another game this year. just enjoy watching some november and december games that actually mean something for the first time in years

You may be happy with winning 6 games and think we surpassed our expectations, but Sparano adn the Dolphins and many fans arent and dont and are treating this team as a divisional winning threat!

big things are in this teams future, im just happy we finally have some direction (the right one it appears). i want this team to win as much as anyone, its just this season i decided i would take my orange colored glasses off and enjoy whatever lies ahead. i hope we have enough steam to get into the playoffs, but i wont hang my head if we do not

Peezy said it clearly. This team does not go for the throat when it has the lead. The coaching staff is contributing to the lack of a killer instinct. You must admit the play calls were conservative during the third quarter.

As inept as the Raiders O is, why not play conservative to avoid costly turnovers to there somewhat adequate defense. I don't see the problem. You folks must not like winning. If it wasn't for the crappy ST it would have worked like a charm.

Its one game man where they called really conversative offensive plays. For the most part this year...they've been pulling out all the stops. The wildcat being the big one as well as different types of running and passing plays. I mean, I agree yesterday was frustrating, but that hasnt been the norm this year. I think the grade is fine.

Contintually conservative? So you are saying that we have been conservative this year?

hmmm since when is the following conservative?

Wildcat
Wildcat RB pass
Wildcat End Around to CP then pass.
Fake Toss to the right, Miss Direction to Cobbs
Flea Flicker 2x
End Arounds
Going for it on Fourth Down over and over again

I agree that they went conservative on a couple of drives yesterday which drove me nuts. But come on be realistic this offense has been anything but conservative.

id like to see the team develop more of a killer instinct. dont get me wrong were a bit of an overachiever right now but if they play with that mentality then being respectable is the best they will acheive. i think when they grab a lead they feel as though they are stealing something and just sit on it hoping as opposed to feeling limke they deserve to be there. they are doing a great job of regaining confidence seeing as though we won 1 last year but they have to start believing they are a winning team or they wont be for long. i see great things for the team if they keep learning to be a winner

Everyone post I read of your I think you are absolutely furious because of that terrifying Porter picture as your sig. HAHA

I'm glad I'm a phins fan, so I don't have to worry about that man destroying me.

And by the way...Go Aves!

There is a time and place for conservative playcalling.

I am all for going conservative once we get a 3 score lead.

I CANT STAND seeing it when we are only up by 7.

We do need to start going for the throat. As we have seen, this team CAN move the ball when it needs to. We almost have to be playing from behind to see the offense make plays, makes me sick.

I'll give you a conservative play that I like when we are up by less than a TD:

PUNT THE DAMN BALL OUT OF BOUNDS!!!!

What happend to the coffin corner? Our ST cant tackle for ****, why are we letting people return punts on us?

Seriously, I'd rather have us kick a punt out of bounds at the 30 than watch people tear up our ST and get amazing field position or a TD.

We were lucky to escape the Seattle game and we were lucky yesterday..., Our PK has balls... It was great to see him factor wth the winning kick...

I would say that we should play more aggressively..., we have nothing and i mean nothing to lose everything to win..., play-call to win..., the defense is nothing special they are a few years away from being dominant... they cannot be expected to win games for you... The offense has got to maintain drives..., and audibles will help keep those Defenders from 8-9 man fronts...

Did you watch the game?

The only reason it was so close was because the special teams continue to blow. We don't have a team that is good enough to risk too much. Our margin of error is pretty narrow. Take away the TD from the return and all of those long returns allowed and it is a blow out.

I think the special teams coach should be canned, lets see how this plays out. We are already 500% better than last year. Realistically we can't get into the playoffs with the leagues worst special teams play.

Chubby I would say conservative on 3 and 3 and 4 and 1 situations..., when we are about mid field or better..., the coaches seem to like to punt
