The Suns are not only expecting to hear an answer from free agent Grant Hill today, they expect to hear the one they want. The Suns believe strongly that Hill will tell them he has decided to join them for the coming season. Hill can't sign anywhere before Wednesday, but he and his agent, Lon Babby, have been speaking with Suns General Manager Steve Kerr since free agency contact began Saturday night. Phoenix's confidence that Hill is coming echoes the beliefs of many across the league and backs up statements Hill made last month. -- Arizona Republic

Question is, how well do you think he fits? I would really like the move, the Suns need a 2/3 that can create for himself, and Hill fits that mold...Ive been saying for the last 2 seasons, since we lost Joe Johnson, that is the main piece of the puzzle we need to find...He is also a good defensive player, which would obviously help...

But can his body handle the fast paced tempo of the Suns? The good thing is, he wouldn't have to play a lot of minutes...

don't know if he can still create his own shot. has a nice mid-ranger though

Has Grant Hill read the Suns roster and noticed that D'antoni doesn;t play more than 7 players?

Jalen Rose part II.

Hill is looking for a ring. Not sure ho wmuch he will contribute, but he is a solid citizen and good player who can seemingly play in any system. Its to bad injuries wrecked his career. I find it to be a good pickup, especially for the pricetag.

He'll be a good locker room presence, and unless they slow down their tempo I don't see him doing much more than that.

He just wants a ring. Don't blame him.

I don't think he will get more that 15 minutes a game though, if that

The Suns need size, not some gimpy guy.

I'm sorry, call it homerism, but I completely disagree with most of the criticism here...

I think this is a great pickup, and as long as he stays healthy, Hill will be a solid part of the rotation, could average a good 20-25 minutes a game...This summer, D'Antoni has already come out and said in order to be more successful, he has to use the bench more. Throw in the fact that Kerr is the new GM, and he knows very well the importance of a strong bench..Kerr also promised Hill he is gonna get a chance to be a legitimate player with real minutes in Phoenix...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hill in the starting lineup, taking Diaw's spot...

Barring any major trades, the lineup should look like this..

Nash
Bell
Hill
Marion
Amare

Barbosa
Thomas
Diaw
Tucker

And I expect 1 more quality bench player to be brought in, with the 3 million we got from Portland, and the salary that will come off with James Jones going...

O.K. it's homerism.

He looked finished in the series against the Pistons. Expect to see him gimp around by the 10th game or so. He isn't going to put you over the top. He's just a name now.

Oh, and Grant, don't let the door hit you in your crippled a** on the way out.

He averaged 31 minutes last year, way too much for a player his age with his injury history...There is no way he plays more than 25 here, and it will probably be more like 15-20...

I dont know why you are hating on him, Orlando management were pretty dumb for giving him that contract, and how can you blame him for taking it? And as far as him leaving now goes, he wants to go to a team that has a legit shot at a title, and a place where he has a chance to contribute. Phoenix will offer both of those..
