Gray box preventing me from contributing to post

Mods,

When I try responding to threads throughout the site, the box to type in is shaded out preventing me from typing.

Any thoughts as to what's going on? I noticed someone in the game thread yesterday had the same problem.

it's been doing it all day, any update on why this is happening? how to fix?
