Great analysis of Chip Kelly/Bill Lazor offense

This will be key to beating the Packers. If it works, and works right away the game will become a battle of attrition and whichever offense stutters more will lose the game.

Not quite as sophisticated as "Go" "Go Go" but it seems to work...

To beat the Packers, we need to run for about 250 yards. Seattle made wonderful use of packaged concepts in ripping apart GB. The zone read has absolutely whipped Dom Capers ass. Lazor should be watching the 49ers games with Kaepernick beating the hell out of GB, and the aforementioned opener vs Seattle. Aaron Rodgers is going to kill us if they can run the ball, we need to strike fast and early, force them to be one-dimensional, they can't handle our pass rush if we don't have to honor the run.

Glad people are finally checking out the Fishduck minute videos I referenced prior to the Patriots game. Also highlighted the packaged plays we ran vs Atlanta. Good things are coming to this offense.

In theory, "LaMichael James" may have more experience than any of our other backs in this type offense. But, man I just don't see his size/power ratio translating to the NFL level. One of the reason I think Moreno looks so good: Certainly has to do with his outstanding vision, But also his power. It seems like you need to be able to break and make people miss consistently to gain nice yardage in this scheme.

Eitherway, I love it so far. But, I do wish we would incorporate a lot more vertical passing. Mike Wallace should see a minimum of at least two deep pass attempts a game.

I was only thinking about LaMichael James for the kick return duties initially. But he could be a ready made expert at what Lazor is wanting to mix it up from the RBs. It's obvious but I wasn't thinking about him for bigger things. He was a star in Chip Kelly's system at Oregon.
Interesting that they have only got him on the Practice Squad. I guess step 1 is seeing how much he can apply. Don't be surprised if LaMichael gets promoted to the 53 man roster pretty quickly.

I would say there is a competition going on during the bye week.

From what I can tell he catches the ball cleanly no wasted motion. L.Miller looks like he's gotta better recently, but man when he struggles to catch the ball you can see the maximum potential yardage from a clean catch just evaporate.. 1 yard gain...no gain on the play. Addtionally, James actually looks like he can make people miss in the open field.

Honest question: Has L.Miller EVER made anyone miss a tackle? Especially, in the flats or anywhere else where he has the room?

The guy in comments complaining about the quality of RB is funny, yet familiar based on this site. We had the top RB after week one and the number 5 back now. What more do you want? Oh, a long TD run every game? Geez.

Why does everybody think Green Bay is unbeatable?

If we win the matchups that matter and execute....we will win.

It should be a close game.

I like Lamar and his improvement is obvious, but I can't recall any great evasive moves.

Agreed. I think LaMichael James was signed primarily as a safety net for injury. If Miller we're to go down at the same time that Moreno was injured we would be able to pull him off the PS and be able to slide him into the lineup more easily than throwing a new playbook at another RB with little or no experience in our scheme.
