Matt Roth in the second round? Another borderline starter now. Cornerback Nick Collins went to Green Bay in that round. Roscoe Parrish went to Buffalo in that round. Star safety Kerry Rhodes was on the board in that round and for several more rounds afterward.

why pick a guy thats undersized for a 3-4? see how stupid our management has been fo ryears?

I can promise you RB isnt going to be resigned, crowder is a goner, and hagan is out 100%.

I think FA is going to be used tremendously thsi year and dont be surprised if we have another 20-30 new players for next year.

anyone know what RB cap space is next year? and the results if we cut him?

Depressing!! I read so many posts on here stating how great those drafts were when they happened. Shows you what we know as well.

It took the Bears 7 years to recover from Wanny.
We have this season and one more to go.....

NOW he's doing the same to my alma mater... AAAUUGGGGHGHHHHH !!

i just hope we keep ronnie brown cause if we cut him i know in my heart that the pats will sign him, or even worse the jets

I mean the draft is full of crap when it comes to people saying who should go where and alot of the time the top 10 picks don't last in the league. The 2005 class of top 10 is probably one of the worst ever with the exception of Braylon Edwards.Troy Williamson, Carlos Rodgers, Cadillac Williams, Alex Smith, Cedric Benson and Ronnie Brown are all either hurt, suck or haven't been productive from where they have been picked. Look outside the top 10 though and you have Demarcus Ware and Shawne Merriman who by production should have went in the top 5. The fact that we got a high pick that year was just bad luck and a bad year to start building from. This years class will hopefully yield better results.

we all knew that year was a bad top 10. its not like that happens every year.every scout said that that was a pretty bad draft for the first round. but all in all with where we were at number 2, i feel that we made the right decision.even tho im starting 2 believe that u shoudlnt take a rb that high.but we still made the right decision

Matt Roth looked really good coming out of college, he was a very intense, non-stop motor type of guy. He was even a projected 1st round pick. Nick Saban got a first hand look at him in college as well. It's easy to say now that it was a stupid pick, but IMO, he was the best player available at the time.

letting Ronnie Brown would be an unbelievably huge mistake.

Yeah...look at everything he has done for this franchise!

Another LaDanian Tomlinson...

Just too productive to trade away...what would our running game look like if he were gone? Tsss....get real, the guy's a bum, and now with a bum knee.

I look forward to turning this roster until somebody hits on a player that is a dominator.

And in not too long, the HC is going to get turned too.

You know some of that stuff is right and some of it is wrong. Many of the players drafted were drafted for a certain style of offense or defense that the then head coach planned to be using the next few years. The coach's never have stuck around long enough to implement that portion of the plan to work. Examples Beck was chosen to run the West Coast offense we no longer use a year later, Roth was picked as a DE who is now a LB. The offensive line now being groomed for big bulkly linemen and Huson H. picked the smaller athletic types. Take just that into consideration and many of these picks were out casts the next year just becasue they did not fit the style. Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor did not fit the current system. Really all the LB's from last year did not fit it only Porter.

that is true but u dont pick someone that doesnt fit ur scheme. I rem he was a mid to late 1st but lasted to our pick but at the end he was still not FIT for our D he wnated to run. so wtf was the point? its like saying you have dan marino but u go for a QB cuz he was teh BPA. U dont put a 270 lb LE in a 3-4. the LE is supposed to be 290 plus in weight and a gamer. Roth can't b/c of his short arms and lack of speed and size. BIG difference buddy

ur off base by a mile. Hudson went on to say after he left that he kept asking for new linemen cuz we dindt have talent on that line. we had the biggest o line in the NFL for 2 yrs. or it was 2nd biggest. how do u miss taht with ssmaller ones? ur thinking of a different team. then you said roth was for DE and now a lber...well no ****, he is too small for a LE so we are trying to find him a home so he doenst become another wasted pick.

Oh man, if we let Ronnie Brown go, that would be a huge mistake. But it should be exciting to see what he can do with some real talent on his offensive line, WR's, and a real quarterback.
