The team is in it's second season of rebuilding & we will need a third to complete the job.
many things to be excited about this year:
1) Orca-5 (KillerWhales), Miami's offensive line sports great size, strength & talent. If they live up to expectations, they could be the next great offensive line in the NFL
2) WR's are ready to step up their play, it's not just about GinnJr, we have a stable full of talent ready to take off.
3) Our running game is healthy & potent, sporting one of the NFL's best Tandems to open the season with a bang behind a promising offensive line.
4) Defensive acquisitions Wake & Wilson (allied with Porter & Bell) are top drawer, going far to advance the play-making power of the unit.
5) Special Teams finished strong & we suffered no significant losses to the group
6) The CoachingCadre has proven to be up to the task of putting together a winner, deep in talent, experience & chemistry.
7) We have one of the best (if not the best) QB stables in the NFL: Pennington, Henne, Beck. Let the #Two's compete & our Starter play w/o controversy. Our Franchise QB will emerge by 2010.
8) Parcells is standing by the team, showing no desire to leave anytime soon. If he holds this one together through 2010, the team will be rock solid & reloaded for competition @ the highest NFL level:D

We need to maintain our perspective in this process. The team is developing & rebuilding. Not all the holes can be filled effectively this year. We will have to develop players & team chemistry. Not everything has to be, nor can it be done now. Unrealistic expectations will result in disappointment. Enjoy the process & you'll have a good year. Who knows what can happen with a little bit of luck & hard work. Should be a very interesting & exciting year.

We will Contend in 2010.

Love the enthusiasm but man have to laugh at the way you see our developements.

Staff is doing a great job with improving OL. Even though we didn't get Brown.

WR, oh ya theres a group which brings a surge of fear to our opponents. Lets see T. Ginn probably more know for being the 9th pick in the draft. And Cammarillo dependable but not scary. Bees a pleasant surprise. And they are possibly acceptable for the time being. Mainly because we are a run oriented team. and we have other even more critical areas to fill.

Defense is a different story.

Rookies did showed promise but still unknown to what level they will develope.

A quality NT who's on the down side of a good career, Solari ahhh ya, did he play?,lol
and a squadron of top shelf Backups LB's. Porter withstanding.

DB's ,W Allen solid and the addition of Wilson hopefully takes one position off the table to upgrade down the road. Hopefully we are considering age in our acquisitions. Don't want to be in the position of constantly having to upgrade the upgrades every year.

Best QB stables...............Oh ya? We got our solid #1 QB and he is who?....Penne ? Henne ?.........If Henne how good has he been in the NFL, do you really know? If I remember correctly ahhh he hasn't played a real game as of yet. It might help to see maybe one game, in order to give a sum what accurate evaluation.

Listen love the enthusiasm but Get real........

This year will show what a fluke last year was and it's more a 3 to 4 year development IMO.

But hopefully BP will pull things together and I agree about, enjoy the process............Go Fins

Friend Cuzinfinny :
the question is not are we SuperBowl material in 2009. we are not
the issue is one of simple perspective: is the glass half empty or is it half full?
Make no apologies for the positive spin & obvious Homer-ism displayed by the thread. it is what it is: one man's perspective & opinion on the team. I see the team in good shape & on course for NFL greatness,

It's in good shape. We're getting towards having both lines set which would allow us to invest in some skill positions.

We're getting there.

this thread is basically about perspective
is the glass half empty or is it half full?
and why?:thanks:

spelling is not an issue, it's all about content
however, you could use the spell check, after entering the proper names into the dictionary, before you post if it is important to you

this thread is basically about perspective
is the glass half empty or is it half full?
and why?
please follow the thread:thanks:

Well put my friend.

To be honest with you I really don't know at this point.

I see the glass with the water line in the middle, neither half full or half empty.

But at all times hoping for the best.

If we aren't contending until 2010 why the H aren't we trading Joey Porter,Ricky Williams, and Will Allen???????

They are old, expensive,on the downside of their careers all of them together could garner us draft picks and open up about 9 mil in cap even after the nasty dead cap from Joey's contract.

We could sign Bodden or Mcfadden, and we could sign Jason Taylor to a 1 year contract. Then draft a CB or two and an OLB/DE.

I don't think we are rebuilding at all. I think it is a win now philosophy.

If we are rebuilding you will see more players over 30 move on; especially ones with clear cap numbers like Ricky and Will Allen.

It's in good shape. We're getting towards having both lines set which would allow us to invest in some skill positions.

We're getting there.

" We're getting There ", Can't deny that.

Although you could actually say we were getting there by releasing Wanny, then Camy, and then Satin.

We have a lot of holes to fill with players that haven't even come in yet. Rookies not acquired yet and the ones we have are very early in their developmental stage.

Time is needed to let things develop and play out to make an accurate assessment.

We had an outrageously exciting season to build from but these early moves we are making and are still in the process of making, need a substantial amount of time to say one way or the other how successful we are..

I think we all will need to hold on to some level of patience, for there are still going to be several large bumps in the road ahead.

God I hope I spelled everything correctly.......

Unrealistic expectations will result in disappointment. Enjoy the process & you'll have a good year. The team will be awesome in 2010 & 2009 will be filled with competitive, exciting games & a number of pleasant surprises.

Lol :)

I prefer "Jakes and the phat men."

I think the plan is to win WHILE we are rebuilding. Despite the schedule, I think this could be a very competitive team this year. Lots of "ifs", true, but I am hoping for the best. It's my team.
