A very good friend of mine in the scouting industry told me this morning that the talk around the scouting community is if the Dolphins aren't able to trade their first round pick, they will take either Chris Long or Vernon Gholston to play the rush end (or OLB) in their 3-4 scheme or use the pick on OT Jake Long of Michigan. My source also told me that he expects the Dolphins to take a QB with their pick in the second round, with that quarterback being none other than Deleware's Joe Flacco. The talk around the scouting community is that Dolphins vice president of football operations Bill Parcells is said to be enamored with Flacco, a New Jersey native just like Parcells. [/FONT]

i would really like any of those first options and would really love to have Flacco on our team
 
I wouldn't doubt it for a second...the first player they talked to was Flacco at the senior bowl. Al's a smart man and has some connections.
 
I do think Flacco or Henne will be drafted, I've got a bad feeling Flacco may end up going late 1st though, he has a big arm. I would be happy with either Long or Gholston with the first pick, but I really think it will be Chris Long.
 
how would flacco being our guy be a smokescreen? i dont understand FEELTHEPAIN
 
well,based on what i've read on Flacco,and this is strictly what i've read on him,it sounds like he wouldn't be a bad pick up
 
I'm afraid that BP and CO will waste the 32nd pick on Flacco or Henne :(

Really? I'm not.

Actually, pretty much ANYTHING and EVERYTHING coming out of the Parcells-etc camp at this point is nothing more than smoke IMHO.

IF we get a QB at all in this draft, I would look at Matt Flynn in the 5th or more likely the 6th as being it
 
I think this is a smokescreen. They now know they won't be able to move the #1, but the #2 is a different story. Some team that wants Flacco (or Brohm or Connors or Cason, or whomever) will trade us a 2, 3, and maybe a 5 to move up to take him on top of the second round. We would pick up and extra 3rd round pick and the 5th round pick we wasted on Trent Green.

If for some reason they can't move the #2, then they'll take an immediate impact player, and Flacco isn't an immediate impact player.

I think we should take either Flacco or Henne with our 2B pick...then they can compete with Beck for the starting spot. :up:
