I didnt want to start a new thread, but this article I saw just now seems to hit on some important factors in way Tannenbaum may work the contract.

Great read, thanks for posting it.

The Raiders would be unable to match the first years cash flow using their traditional model, due a small rule known as the 50% rule that will cause large differentials in first and second year salary to be treated as a signing bonus. Without moving off their preferred structure, Oakland would need to offer more money to Suh in the first two years of his contract than Miami (nearly $50 million total) which would seem excessive for any player. Here is how the Raiders would be able to most closely match the cash flow of the contract:

This is something I did not know. Learning something new is a VG thing.

I do not care how good he is, I am not paying 100,000,000 over 6yrs.

For argument's sake, let's say that we actually will end up spending $17N a year on Suh, which is not likely to happen.

The money is there, and has to be spent by the new CBA. Who are you spending that money on?

Plus the state of California will charge Suh 13% tax on his money.

Yes. Also just think that everyone working for FH can move to Fla and save on all the money they are making. JK/LOL

This was not a paid FH solicitation. :).
