GREAT PICK!!!! Lamar Miller!!!

To somewhat support JCane (sadly) A friend of mine who is 2nd in charge of college scouting for a team that is not in the AFC East (or the AFC all together) just texted me saying "Risky. Ireland is taking a lot of raw high ceiling low floor players. Must have absolutely zero confidence in the ability of the coaching stuff. Miller has serious injury concerns as well"

By coaching staff he means Miami Hurricanes.

I just texted him asking what his grade would be if not for the injury concerns but haven't heard back.

Sadly lol.

All I do is give you guys the truth. I never sugar cost anything.

The truly sad thing is that I'm damn near right every single time...which kinda sucks when I have to predict what **** this team will be.

Luckily I'm feeling pretty good about this draft.

Great pick up!

He's the best home run threat in this year draft class at RB...now with Bush and him we'll always have a RB that can take it to the house on every play. That's what this pick was all about, plus he could end up being one of the top 5 RB in all the NFL and he he'll be a top KR starting next year, and when the last time we had a GREAT KR, lol been years. That alone would be worth a 4th round pick.

Well then let's not forget he's as dumb as a rock as well, lol That has alot to do with why he was still here for us in the 4th round.

No matter how bad or good some fans may see this pick, 1 thing is obvious; Miller clearly upgrades the return game on KO and PR!!! I'm sure this pick was made with a plan on how Philbin and Sherman will use Miller. They had 1 night to adjust their draft board and obviously thought Miller was a value worth trading up for once he wasn't taken with the 1st pick in round #4.

Has he ever returned punts or kick offs? We could of taken the fastest RB in this draft in Chris Rainey in the 5th-6th round. He blocked a punt last season for a TD and has ran back punts and kick offs for TDs.

in the booth, they were trying hard not to laugh at the pic and ALL of them questioned the choice BIG TIME!! mayock shredded him.

why?

he cant pass block, at all!! he has no vision and no insticts. he can do ONE THING, he can use his good speed to run down field IF there is a HUGE HOLE to run through. how is this a great pic? we already have a big time rb who IS a bonafide game braker and can cut back, run between the tackles, catch the ball, ANOTHER THING MILLER CANT DO, and is a star. if they wanted insurance, take LAMICHAEL JAMES instead of a week ot who cant block at the next level and is succeptable to speed rushers early and not have to give up picks to do it? [like san fran did when they already have a pro bowl rb].

its about talent and selecting it at the right time. thats why the 49eers went from worst to first and we are staying put, again.

me sees some pretty big time canes homers in here. the guy can do ONE THING ONLY and he wont be getting the holes he had in college.

our biggest needs havnt been met, db who can actaully cover and safety's who can handle the pats TE's. a wr who can get in the endzone. we dont have one. yes, we needed an ot, but massie is bigger and has just as good feet, slide and mirrors and BLOCKS WELL IN THE SECOND LEVEL which is what you need to do in a zone scheme. better player, better value. we still need a rt guard? the best are gone. we have a team full of after thoughts already!

but we trade pics to come up in an early, important round to draft a position we DONT need and a player who brings NOTHING to an nfl table.

worst draft of the ireland era and will go down as one of the worst, if not the worst draft this club has had.

come see me in two years homers!!

What rookie running back is nfl ready to pick up blitzes? They all need to be coached properly to do it at this level.

Maybe Philbin will flex reggie more outside at WR?

I would have rather taken a player from FSU, OT Zebrie Sanders and a player from UF, RB Chris Rainey and averaged it out, lol.

My MLB just went James-Michael Johnson.

Several of my players are still on the board.

the good news is that by drafting two UM players we upped our season tickets by at least 7-8............

Keep taking good players. We need talent not just filling holes.

This guy COULD be a special player.

Jeff is growing on me and I am starting to dislike Parcells even more. Maybe he was the sole issue between his HC pick and drafts.

Ever since the Tuna left Ireland has said he wants speed on this team. That was not what we drafted when the Tuna was here, he liked size. The Tuna was acting like it was 1995 IMO.

Ireland is showing what his philosophy is.

I can't speak to any of the other guys we drafted. I've never seen Tannehill play. I don't even know anything about the DE we picked up from Miami. But I've watched enough Canes games the last few years to know that Lamar Miller, as a runner, is a first round talent. I can't speak to his blocking abilities, or Wonderlic scores, or whatever. But, purely as a runner, he's going to make teams have to gameplan a little bit for him. It's the fourth round...this is great value.

Miller has returned kick-offs, but not necessarily punts. He's returned 3 punts for 16 yards in his career.

Chris Rainey isn't a running back, goes down with the tip of a finger... and has some psychopathic behavior and mental issues in his past.

like how ppl complain about the pick just because it wasnt who they wanted....from my understanding of wco we need ppl like this and we also need help on special teams so to me he is a good pick up

I can't see Lamar Miller as a punt returner. He's an upfield type and not the most cerebral, tough or wiry. He makes sense 5 yards deep in the end zone waiting for a kickoff.

There's plenty of truth to the things Miller can't do. That doesn't seem to bother the Davone Bess fans. We have no trouble pretending he's a special player. Miller can stick it in the end zone out of nowhere.

In the opener last year at Maryland, Jedd Fisch sent Miller on a wheel route on Miami's final possession that nearly busted open to steal the game. Miller was cruising but Morris' pass was just off the mark. A play or two later Tommy Streeter ran an awful route and allowed a pick-six touchdown, one that earned special significance since it broke my record for most brutal beat in a Canes season opener. I had Maryland plus points prior to the suspensions, and Miami plus points after the line adjustment. Game was sitting in the wonderful midsection until the Terps return touchdown.
