Happy with the win! There are a lot of knee jerk threads out there so I just wanted to get some of the less emotional reaction to the problems with our run defense and what you guys think we can do to fix it? Why did we get trucked all day? Is it just piss poor linebacker play?

Perhaps a carryover in scheme from last year? We did shore it up in the second half.

Tackling was atrocious for sure. I certainly hope we can improve over the course of this season. The DL seemed to be playing in the backfield all day but Washington was breaking through that first line pretty easily.

Honestly, the dline looked rusty.

Not saying they should of played more in preseason, but clearly weren't challenged like they were today. I wouldn't read THAT much into it. They'll get better.

I hope your right! It's a road win and I will take it. It's the NFL so it's always tough to win on the road.

The Dolphins coaches made didn't like what they saw early in the defense enough to make one decision. Undrafted rookie linebacker Mike Vigil replaced Kelvin Sheppard in the defense. Vigil had a good preseason, obviously, but this seems as much a statement about the Dolphins linebackers as the rookie. Chris McCain was the original hope to win the third linebacking job. When he didn’t, Koa Misi moved outside and Sheppard put inside. But when things got dicey on Sunday, Vigil was put in for long stretches. We’ll have to see where this goes as Sheppard and Vigil both played depending on the situation in the second half.

I like to see that the coaches went to Vigil. I wonder if they look to move Misi back inside and allow McCain to play on the outside because Sheppard was horrible.

Ya the D line looked shaky but we will find our groove. Good win week 1 on the road. Take the W and let's keep it going

After watching the LBs I really want them to see if Foster or somebody is out there to try and shore up the Middle some maybe bring LUC the earth Shaker back for those run downs lol

They got their act together in the 2nd half but that 1st half was pretty fugly.
