When I read other blogs people are not impressed with Greg. I know the guy didn't light it up the first game but he did lead all WR's.

I understand he is not a 1 or never will be, but if we had better 1-2 receivers this guy is the perfect 3-4 receiver.

I am not happy with our options at WR, but we are rebuilding. I wish people would stop freaking out. I would like to see us trade and bring in a solid WR to help us compete cause I believe we are not as bad as most suggest but if not, let the coaches shuffle the WR's untill they find the right guys.

Hagan, Willford or London need to show-up! Those are the guys with the build for the redzone jumpball.

Bess has impressed the hell out of me.... I hope we keep that guy and not pull a Wes Welker to the pats!

I think they are right not to be impressed with him, nor anyone at the WR position, as they have hardly been impressive.

True... but GC will give the same consistent output if you give him the chance. If we fix the 1/2 spot, this guy is a great option to compliment the 3/4 spot.

thusfar the only receivers that have been impressive are our TE's...Fasano and Martin, but that is just one game...there is a whole season left ahead of us...alot of room and time for our guys to grow

I like him. But he isnt better than a 3 or 4 but its all we got right now.

I think your point is valid as Camarillo is probably playing a little 'out of position' as the number 1-2... I agree the kid needs a chance at the '3' spot as he is reliable, plays with heart and blocks. The reality is this is just how deep.. or how 'thin' the personnel is at this point in the rebuild.

Unfortunately it is not only at the WR spot! We will see this weekend just how thin we are at OL with the loss of Thomas as well... I think you could argue that the ONLY position we have depth is RB...

it is soooooo early in the rebuild and how this constantly gets lost on people posting the 'sky is falling' after a single game is beyond me. I guess it is what a perfect preseason and unreal expectations will do to you.

I think Bess has been impressive so far considering an undrafted rookie. His reception against the jets is his specialty. Sit in the hole of coverage and catch and run for 1st down. Good return man. Camerillo made a hell of a catch for a 1st down. Ginn not so much. He looks a little weak upper body to fight off the physical dbs. Revis put the box out on him and he really didn't make a fight for the ball but immediately went into defensive back role and tried to breakup the pass only to get call for pass interferance. He maynot be physical enough to handle the numer one wr spot

If we had a better #1 and #2, he would be more of a situational player. He has good hands and the coaches say he is "football smart." If he is good on special teams, he is a player you can find uses for...

He is our #2 behind Ginn. Just like the Bengals last year, Housh had better numbers than Chad Johnson but he was still the #2.

I like Camarillo. However, I don't see him as a #1 option. Sadly, he has been that for us this season. He is on pace for a big year in receptions and yards, but he is probably better as being a #3 or even maybe a #2. He is a talented WR, and I hope we keep him around for awhile. We just need to pick up some better talent next offseason, so Camarillo can shift to being the #2 or #3.

He is the best WR right now.I see him returning next year but yes he is no better than a second or third WR. Bess is that also probably more a number 3 guy.Next year Hagan and Wilford will be gone and the draft will be used on a top WR.Ginn shows flashes but he may be only a second WR not a true number 1.This team will get better every season.

I feel that some of you are short-selling Camarillo a bit.

Is the guy a Pro Bowler in the making? Probably not.

But he has played very well considering the conservative passing attack that we employ, and he does all of the little things (blocking, etc...) very well. He did have a crucial drop in the endzone this week, which was disappointing to see, but I believe that he is capable of being a legitimate No. 2.

That said, if we can replace him with better talent, pushing him back to the No. 3 spot, I'm all for that as well.

Camarillo is a great story. He's on pace for 60-70 catches and 800-900 yards, and that's assuming he doesn't ratchet up his play with more experience.

He runs good routes. He's always moving. As Sparano says, he makes himself available, and that is as transparent as can be when you watch him play. He has smarts and toughness.

He runs north/south. Honestly, we should get him the ball more than we do. He is just a winner. I always thought we needed more guys like Camarillo and less like Hagan. Thank goodness we found this kid.

Not to mention that he has a great personal story. Walk-on at Stanford. Mechanical engineer. Better NFL player than college player. His dad came out of the ghetto and became a professor.

This is truly a great American story and I admire the kid and his family.
