We're going to see about the Dolphins and Hurricanes now. We're going to find out a lot of what we don't know yet. There has not been another year when our two major football colossuses were preparing for home openers that felt so season-shaping.

Early as it is, one game into the grind for both, desperation drives the Dolphins and possibility pushes the Canes. Both teams are in a fragile spot.

It is fitting that UM playing host to Georgia Tech on Thursday and then the Dolphins playing host to the Indianapolis Colts on Monday are at night on national TV because what we need to find out about the Dolphins and Hurricanes is this:

Who are the ready-for-prime-time players? Who is up to the big stage?

I'm pumped, how awesome would it be if both teams were to have big years at the same time. Also it's very big season openers for each team.

I've been believing since 1983...since the Dolphins placed a rookie on the field to lead the Dolphins...and I'm still waiting all these years...for the right results....the one result that really means something to me as a fan.
