What do you guys think of trading down and getting a guy like him? I don't leave in Miami, so some of you guys might know better, but dude looks solid and could really take the pressure of Chambers. Plus if we end up getting Trent Green (which im not all for) it would be nice to get him a solid tight end like he has be used too his entire career.

I think a lot of people want to trade down, it's easier said than done though. personally I'm not a big fan of getting Olsen if we trade down though. I'd rather just take Miller in round 2.

Trading down

I think that it would be a good idea to trade down and take Greg Olsen. Maybe we could pick up an extra pick in the second and third rounds and use those picks to help us fill some of our many needs.

i've wondered the same and wouldn't mind the pick at all but i don't think we will.

TE will play a huge role in our offense. I like zach miller of AZ st at 60 though.

guys could this possibly happen. could it actually happen that we could trade down 3 x and get 2 extra 2nd rd draft picks and a 4th rd pick ?
i relize that it wont happen but could this happen ?

That will never happen.

I would be very dissapointed if we wound up with Greg Olsen in the first round, even if we trade down. He just isn't that good, there is no way around it. I keep hearing Kiper compare him to Todd Heap, but Olsen really didn't do anything worthy of being a first round pick in college. The only reason this is a topic of discussion is because he ran a 4.5 forty. Yes, that it is an impressive time but after what Vernon Davis ran last year it doesn't seem like such a big deal anymore.

Before the combine, Olsen and Zach Miller were considered even prospects, likely to be taken in the late first/early second area. The guy runs a nice time and suddenly he is drawing comparisons to pro-bowl tight ends. I would much prefer Miller at 60 if he is there, or possibly Ben Patrick in the 3rd round.

Martin is a below-average tight-end. It is unclear whether he is better than Justin Peele.

I like Olson. O-line is a higher priority... we need to get a top O-lineman in the first 2 rounds... or I will be disappointed. Staley, Kalil, Blalock, Brown... someone.
