I liked everything I saw about Chad’s performance tonight. He moved the ball well and put some points on the board," said Bob Griese, who helped call the game for the NFL Network.
Griese pointed out that Pennington is now holding the football higher and has a more traditional release than he did previously, when he was quarterbacking the Jets. Griese also said that Pennington’s improved mechanics should help him avoid shoulder problems that have plagued him in the past.

I had not heard about the mechanics change, although I know that good athletes are always working on their skills, and I can see how changing mechanics for someone with shoulder issues could help. Thoughts?

I think that Pennington has an arm that is more accurate and likely just as strong as Griese's (Bob). We did OK with Bob at QB, so I'm OK with Pennington.....

Yeah he looked good and extremely comfortable for only being in the system for a week. He had a pocket made some good throws his velocity looks much improved, looks like the shoulder is fully recovered. It takes 2 years to come back from shoulder or elbow surgery and its been that long i imagine his arm strength is the best its ever been.

Plus he manages games and that wat we need him to do. I only see it getting better and should be a good teacher to Henne. He is a winner plain and simple. You can talka botu last year but his line was terrible they went out this offseason and paid a ton of money to sure up the line and thomas Jones had like .8 yards per carry so they could stack the box. With our line and FOUR Rb's i think he will thrive i had us at 5-6 wins with Penny prolly 2 more wins good job front office.

I like CP's leadership... and the fact others on offense are buying in... something that they haven't done with any of the other QB's...

Pennington now turns his shoulder when he throws. Apparently he did not do that before... even though they teach that in pee-wee football.

I think it's pretty wierd that he never "Stepped into his throws" before. He'll probably add an extra 5-10 mph per throw.

It still looked very very stranger to see him in a phins jersey. It was just weird somehow:err:

Definitely, although having the support of a Phins legend definitely goes a long way to make it easier to swallow.
