Have to disagree on Grimes being the exception. Myself, and a few others looked at other younger options but, I do not know of a single poster who did not want to keep Grimes.

IF I am wrong, let them stand up and be counted, by fingers on one hand, if that many. lol

I posted the updated contract info in the the Grimes thread earlier today but from what I have read, Ryan Herman, Dolphins Manager of Football Administration is the guy doing the number crunching.

I actually met Dawn Aponte at a conference in Indianapolis a couple weekends ago. Dont be fooled by the media, she is very sharp and articulate. She is highly intelegent and has a very strong personality to stand tall in a "mans" world. I feel much better about her being with the Phins than I was prior to that.

Grimes is a stud bro and he brought it all year long! Great signing!

I don't think the deal got any better. I Basically look at it as a 2 year 16 million dollar contract which is fair considering he did perform at a top level this off season.
Good to lock up your performers instead of overpaying for one year wonders and guys who underperformed the previous year. Sets a good opening precedent.
Grimes will probably play two years and in the third year we will take the 3 million dead money hit. At that point he will be 33 and probably on decline.
The only concern is will he stay healthy but its a fair contract. After this signing I would try to sign another corner that's pretty good and if we do set Patterson free.

Grimes deal gets better and better and better. I understand that Shields is younger but we got Grimes for cheaper and a better contract.
