If Gasol is available NYK need to step in now. We have the assets. Curry, Crawford, balkman and the expiring contracts of jones and dickau for Gay, Mike Miller and Pau.

Thats just the lineup Isiah needs. He wanted a strong perimeter defender so why bother with Artests issues? We need a jump shooter, get Miller and take his high contract for the more reasonably priced crawford who contributes comprarable stats when Isiah realized hes a starter not a bench player. And Zach would have the post to himself more because pau is a good perimeter player and he'd be the interior shot-blocker we need.

Holla @ this lineup:
PG:Marbury/Collins/Nate Robinson
SG:Mike Miller/Q
SF:Gay/Lee/Q/Jefferies
PF:Zach randolph/Lee
C: Pau Pau Pauer Wheels/Randolph Morris/Jerome James

Knick fans gotta dream too :(

Knick's fans always dream. After a while doesn't it get a little depressing?

The insinuation of the article is that Nocioni will in some way be involved in a sign and trade that nets the Bulls Gasol. The Griz want Nocioni to play beside Pau, not in place of him. They have the cap space and they're going to use it on someone, whether it be Nocioni, Varejao, or Milicic.

They'd have to really overpay for the Bulls not to Match IMO. Once they do that... Kind of hurts the flexibility of the GM to add more talent. So unless you figure the team you have + Noc is enough to win... You don't overpay for a RFA.

I hope they take him away from Cleveland, I hate that guy.

Not in the NBA. They could offer him 50 mil over 4 years or 25 over the same time and it would make little difference to them. And you always overpay for a RFA....thats the point of having the restriction.

No sometimes you just trade for him, but pay normal salary. I don't consider that over paying. Some do, but I do not.

IF you pay a FA too much and then make your team over the cap... then all you have left is the mid level exception. THUS, you will not be able to add much more GOOD talent to compliment the team you have. SO no you really can't offer TOO much to one guy that is not a HUGE difference maker on your team. Even then there are rules to prevent other teams from paying more $ to RFAs than the current team can pay.

That is the main reason the Knicks had little flexibility in their roster the last two years. They had too many guys with too big of contracts to put them over the cap.

Oh you certaintly are dreaming. Wow, that would be the worst trade in history of everything [Stock trades, pokemon cards, sports related trade, etc].

You will keep your garbage till the contracts expire and you will learn like it!

There are only two cap situations that have any meaning in the NBA. Either you are 10+ million under the cap or you are not. Once you reach that threshold, which Memphis will with whatever FA they sign this offseason, contract value is meaningless. The only one who cares is the owner that has to shell out the contracts.

Memphis can and probably will overpay for a free agent. What they pay per year is of no consequence. What you have to get right is the length of the contract. Five and six year deals have an annoying habit of coming back to bite you in the end.

Looks like Andres Nocioni is gonna re-up with Chicago for $38 million over 5-years. Paxson's words do not indicate sign-and-trade either. IMO, Memphis will now shift their attention to Darko Milicic.

Jeez some of you have wayyyyy too much hostility. I said i was dreaming so get over yourself. I know we're stuck with our junk, relax.
