Gruden reupped with ESPN for 5 years

Guess he's not going to be coaching the Fins! Is this a fail by Ross?? I don't know if the were officially talking? Anyone have any insight?

That doesn't rule out the possibility of us getting him, but it certainly bumps up the price of getting him. Certainly doesn't help our chances though. I still think he wants to coach again eventually.

Broadcast contracts almost always have an escape clause for them to return to football. Parcells left ESPN to join us, remember?

I'm pretty sure Gruden will be able to return to the NFL as a coach, but the 5 year contract guarantees that he can't go anywhere else as a broadcaster, even if he returns to the NFL and then leaves after 2-3 years.
